    • Thank you Dorothy and cooking isn’t like a chore at all in this kitchen. I am loving all this counter space too. I have to be careful though, I made bone marrow and took the pictures on granite countertop, way too busy so looks like back to the white board. However, the lighting is SO much better. Have a great day Dorothy!

      • Me too and my mom used to say “I should have married an Italian, not a German – their food and temperaments are better!” Wiener schnitzel and potato pancakes were my favorite German foods. Oh, the bread too – gotta love that rustic German bread.

      • Yes, I do like some German food, but you can’t go wrong with Italian food. My parents went to the Germania Club New Year’s Eve party a few times – I was a preteen, so they took me along. Their special treat was the raw pork, ground up and put on rustic bread. People lined up for it … I tried it once, but took my cues from my mom who didn’t like the idea of eating raw meat.

      • Same here Diane. I always thought this was hamburger or ground round, then I was telling a German coworker about it and she said it is minced pork with seasonings and very good. I thought the same thing … always cook pork thoroughly.

      • They actually lowered the internal temperature of cooked pork. It used to be 165 and now it’s 145º. It tastes so much better at 145º and moist!

      • I wonder why they did that? Maybe stoves heat up better now? I’d still be worried about eating minced pork, but I guess this is a popular treat so no one else worries about it.

    • Enjoy it is one of our favorites. We like it with the small meatballs but any size will do. I’m just being lazy because we don’t have to cut the meatball when we eat it because the small ones are bite sized. 🤣
