Mario Batali’s Weeds Recipe: A Delicious Stovetop Meal

Weeds is a stovetop meal made with hot and sweet sausage, curly pasta, wine (I used beef broth) and a delicious sauce. This has a wonderful flavor, different than I usually make and a new favorite in our house. It was created by Mario Batali and posted by my blogger friend Bernadette at http://www.newclassicrecipe.com

  1. I went to your original post and discovered your answer to why it is called “weeds.” It still strikes me as a funny name for the dish, but it sounds tasty!

  2. I thought it was Beefaroni. 🙂 Sausage and pasta sounds tasty and throw in a few broccoli bits as well. Interesting name for this dish though.

  3. This looks so delicious, Diane. As I’ve shared before, I love sausage meat, such a versatile ingredient for pasta and stir fries. I bet the tomato paste added lots of flavour as did the nutmeg.

  4. There are few things as delicious as pasta and ground beef with a delicious sauce! But hot and sweet sausage sounds like a very good alternative. I’m definitely saving this recipe!
