Pork Chops With Gravy
As you see I have been trying out different Pork Chops recipes. I had a bunch of Pork Chops in the freezer and decided to come up with different ways to cook them. This recipe is made with Pork Chops, onion, garlic, seasonings, condensed soup and beef broth for a gravy that makes itself as the Pork Chops bake in the oven.
Spray a 9” x 13” baking dish with cooking oil.
Dredge the pork chops into the 1/2 cup of flour coating both sides.
Heat the oil over medium high heat, in a large skillet,
then brown both sides of the pork chops. Place
the pork chops into the prepared baking dish.
Add the onions and garlic to the skillet over medium
heat and cook until the onions start to turn brown.
Stir in 3 Tbsp. of flour.
Add the soup, Worcestershire sauce, salt,
pepper and poultry seasoning then stir well.
Slowly stir in the beef broth.
Continue to stir and cook until hot and bubbly.
Ladle the gravy over the pork chops and bake in a
preheated 275 degree oven for 80 – 90 minutes or
until tender and at least 145 degrees then serve.

Does the Cheddar cheese soup give it a unique taste Diane? I would probably use mushroom soup, but if it is a flavour that adds to the taste, then I would give it a try.

Yes it is a different taste but I suggested the others in case someone couldn’t find the Cheddar Soup. This is a recipe Paula Dean put in a book I bought but I completely changed her recipe, however, she used the cheddar cheese soup.

Okay, I will see if I can find it here. I know I used to be able to get it, but haven’t bought it in so long.

Thanks Linda this one is a little more work because I seared the pork chops on the top burner first. But they definitely were delicious!😋

We really loved it, however, the grandkids don’t like onions and didn’t. I usually add dehydrated onions if they are eating it and they never say a word. But I sliced these onions in half and they could see them…lol Thank you!

The onions are a big part of the appeal for me, but I’m glad you figured out how to get the grandkids to eat this dish.

OH you will love this one. Because it cooks at a low temperature and a longer time it was so tender.

A unique way to prepare pork chops. I really like these pantry recipes. I am assuming cooking the chops in the gravy at such a low heat really tenderizes them.
