Probably not so far off from some recipes down in the “boot” of Italy, or Sicily, where they like a fair amount of heat and spice in their sauces, thanks to the north African influences.

10 years ago, I’d’ve gobbled this up. Now, I’d work at leaning it out without losing flavors…which are flavors, let’s face it, I grew up with. Ain’t always easy; but, I’m already beyond terminal age. :-]
