My Morning Breakfast
I have already told some of my followers how the Coronavirus has changed my life. We are healthy, so far, and hope to stay that way. However, my husband works in the hospital here. My son must work at his job, not from home. My daughter is a Registered Nurse and studying to be a Nurse Practitioner. My daughter in law is a nurse practitioner. I am so proud of the sacrifice they are all making.
You have seen many posts where I speak of my grandchildren. We started having our grandson visit, my sons boy, once a month for the weekend. They live over an hour away. Now because of the risk of the virus we can not pick him up, his breaks my heart.
We have my daughters kids here every week. My daughter is on the front line caring for the Coronavirus patients. My husband and I decided to ask my daughter if we could move her kids in with us until the severity of getting this virus is much less possible. I guess we are doing this for selfish reasons. If she passes it to our grandkids, they would definitely pass it to us with all our hugs and kisses.
We have had our two grandkids with us for 11 days now. My entire life is now devoted to homeschooling, keeping their bottomless pits fed and entertaining them. They have adjusted well and see their mom through our glass door while my daughter wears a mask. One day they saw her outside so she could watch them play while she wore her mask and kept her distance. They are going to be here for a few months.
My grandkids are 5 and 9 years old. Although they miss their mom they seem to understand why they must isolate at Grandma and Grandpa’s house. Yesterday my husband had to go into work early. The grandkids woke up 45 minutes before me and decided to be very quiet, play in their room and let Grandma sleep in! I really needed it and appreciated it!
When I got up my granddaughter fixed her brother breakfast and made this special breakfast for me!
With my breakfast was this heartfelt note making me 100% certain we have done the right thing. Please isolate yourself, if you are able, to keep you and your loved ones safe.

Sooo cute!
Thank you Saania she’s a sweetie indeed.
Awwwww! Now that is sweet!
Stay strong Diane and good luck to you and yours! Stay safe, stay well!
You as well!!! Thank you💕💕💕
How sweet!💛
She really is, thank you!
Oh, good for you! What a great idea for them to stay with you guys and isolate since everyone has such high risk jobs! This is a time they will never forget! I love the note! I can only see my grand kids and kids on face-time now. I take care of my 88-year old father with major health issues–Parkinson’s, COPD, heart problems and a son with Downs. High risk. My husband got laid off so he is helping which is good since my father fell this morning and it’s so hard for me to get him up. Trying times.
Oh no Lynn!!! You definitely have your hands full. I hope your father is ok? You must be a strong person and I hope you continue to be. Keep everyone safe and healthy you don’t need any more! ((((Hugs))))
Adorable!
Thank you!
It must be really hard having so many family members out there in the thick of the virus. Well done for looking after your Grandkids – and the breakfast that was specially made for you is delightful! 🙂
Thank you we feel very blessed.
Breakfast looks perfect. The love note is better than the morning paper. It’s a very special time now and it doesn’t have to be all bad. We are going through the same thing with my granddaughter. It will all end .
They have been with us for over a month and life is so normal now. It will be hard when they go back home. Thank you for such nice words!
You are amazing! What a gift you’re giving your grandkids and daughter! Hang in there!
Amazing grandkids you’re having !!🙂…May each one of you stay safe and healthy 👍

What an unexpected and lovely start to your day – thank you for sharing it with us and brightening all of our mornings with it! Best – Abe
I am happy to share it and thank you for being so kind.
What a wonderful family you have, Diane! I hope things continue to go well for you all. This is a difficult time, but It’s lovely to see the kindness that is being expressed in some places.
Thank you Linda. I agree, it is so nice to see the good in people. It is even nice to see TV commercials be positive and feel like the world is united.
Such a beautiful blog Diane. <3 Thank you for sharing this, your reality with difficult choices during this pandemic. <3
I feel very blessed to have my grandkids safe in our home. It is two less people I have to worry about. Thank you Stephanie and stay safe and healthy too!
😘
They’ll keep you young and fit Diane!
Yes and I am definitely sleeping better at night! 🤣😂😂🤣
Party with Family…
Hahaha exactly!
Fine
So adorable! Wish you safe!
Thank you for your kindness!
what a wonderful gift! many thanks to your family of heroes and may they all stay safe and well
Thank you Beth you too!
This brought tears to my eyes. I am sending my prayers and good wishes to you and your family – Neek (We are in this together) Take care and be safe!
Thank you so much. My daughter is a single mom and we even talked about the fact she needs a will. Everyone of these wonderful people that have put their lives on hold to care for the sick will probably need therapy for PTSD. I can’t even begin to tell you the stress my daughter is under.
I am so sorry Diane! It is a terrible strain for you and your family. We think that you are all rock stars! Please let your daughter know that we think she is a hero and appreciate all that she does. – Neek
I will. My husband and daughter received an email from the hospital stating they will work wherever and whenever the hospital needs them. There are no exceptions so we interpret that to mean they will be fired if they refuse to do any job. Thank you Neek. ❤️
So awful! Hang in there Diane – Neek
What a wonderful breakfast, gift from your granddaughter! Much love to your family working on the front line of healthcare! Best wishes!
Thank you Tierney. ❤️
Oh my gosh Diane, I don’t even know what to say. I am also proud of your family for being on the front lines and hope this ends so we can all live our lives. I wish you and your family well.
Thank you so much, this is definitely a scary time. Stay safe and healthy!
Oh how sweet! We are all going through this together! Thank you to your family for being on the front lines. Be careful! Stay well my friend!
Thank you Nancy! You too!
What a sweet time with your grands, Diane! The situation is stressful for all but I am sure that one day your grandchildren will look back on this time with the best of memories. May God bless you and keep all of you healthy during this time.
Thank you very much Patty. Keep your family healthy and safe as well!
This is such a sweet breakfast 💚
From the sweetest granddaughter…lol Thank you!
So adorable!
Thank you June she’s pretty special. ❤️
That’s so sweet ❤️
That breakfast is adorable! I don’t have little ones around anymore and miss this sort of cuteness.
What a fine breakfast and gorgeous note. Stay safe and sane.
Hahaha you too Peggy!!! Thank you 🌼
What a wonderful breakfast! Stay safe and be well. Prayers for you and your family.
Thank you Nancy, you and your family as well!
You’re wonderful grandparents. You’re not just helping out – you’re making precious memories in very stressful times

Absolutely and a great start to the day.
What a wonderful, sweet post. You have an amazing family !!
That you so much Kristi! I am definitely blessed. ❤️
healthy and delicious-mashallah. it would feel so refreshing to begin the day with such breakfast!
Did you notice my granddaughter made a smile face out of it? It was a wonderful way to start the day. Thank you Atul!!! 🌹
mashallah! indeed a wonderful way to start the day. May god bless you and your granddaughter.
Good luck to your kin working in hospital. Long, long ago, I worked in an historically important teaching hospital tied to a great university. One of the grunts charged with keeping the infrastructure functioning. We did have a ward for rare, usually imported, extremely dangerous diseases. That feeling I knew then – when we had to go in and sort something needing repair – was pretty scary.
It’s back.
What a stressful but important job that was!!!
What a special breakfast! Stay safe and be well, my friend.💚😊
Thank you Patty, you too!
You and your family rock. Every health care worker has our heartfelt gratitude even if we never catch COVID-19.
We are sheltering in place as well, though I ventured out to the grocery store, gas station and CVS today.Woo-hoo, I lead such a life of reckless abandon. 🙂
You are so sweet to say that Matt, thank you! We are doing the order and pick up groceries where I order on line and we drive up then they put it in the car. We even broke down and bought the grandkids a dinner of take out pizza on Saturday. Stay safe and healthy Matt!
Bless your family members for all they are doing to help the people that need medical care. What a sweet note and nice breakfast. I am staying in and having anything I need delivered from local businesses. Enjoy your precious grandchildren and my hope and prayer is that you and all of your family stay safe from the virus. All are in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs
Thank you SO much Mags!! Please stay safe and healthy yourself. We have never experienced anything like this in our lives. It is so scary. I am always the one my family comes to to make things better. I feel so helpless this time! I will take all the prayers I can get. ❤️
You have those prayers from here. In all of my 80 years I have never seen anything like this either, nothing anywhere near. Big hugs
Finally a meal I can make with confidence! I will try it tomorrow.
Hahahahaha those are M&Ms for the mouth and that’s right where I put them!
I’ll second that!
🤣😂🤣
Bless you and your family, Diane. 🙏

What a special breakfast scene. You are a wonderful grandmother. Stay safe.
Awww thank you so much!❤️
What sweet gesture and CUTE too!!! Love this. Please stay healthy and safe, thank you for all you do to help support those who are helping others.
I wouldn’t do it any other way. Thank you for your support!
That is so noble of you to take in your grand children & do what you are doing. I’d do the same if my situation were the same. How sweet the breakfast you were served and the note is priceless! Please know we are praying for the safety of all those on the front lines and we thank them. They are making sacrifices as if they were in the military. Serving others despite the consequences. Bless them and you for your support. 💕
Thank you SO much Lisa that really means a lot. 💕
Your working behind the lines my friend! Enjoy those grandkids as long as you can. It will be a lifetime of memories for all of you when this is over. Be safe! 🥰
That is so sweet. Your grandkids are paying attention and learning from all of your dedication in the kitchen.
My granddaughter even makes food out of play dough (clay). They are amazing. She loves to help me in the kitchen too. Thank you Kelsie!
Everyone’s lives are changing. Hopefully this mess ends soon. Best wishes, my friend.
Thank you Bryan and stay healthy. 💕
This is so sweet 💕 Your family is amazing! Thank you for all of their efforts, and for yours too while they work on the front lines.❤️
Thank you so much for your encouraging words! Stay safe!💕
Kudos to you and your family for the sacrifices!
Hope you all stay healthy and well!!!
Love the looks of this breakfast. Someone took quite a bit of time to make that for you. So sweet!
My husband and I have been staying pretty isolated since early January when he became too weak to cough or sneeze effectively, but, I’ve stepped it up a bit now. Went out this morning to deliver – from 6′ away and outside – 10 dozen fresh eggs to customers, then to the gas station to fill cans for my little tractor. Picked up the mail (once/week chore since I have to go into town) and came home.
Oh my keep him safe. I am glad you are being so cautious. They just said on TV we should wear a mask even when going outside, I agree! Stay safe and healthy. We cancelled our cruise/trip to Hawaii we had planned for December. Just not willing to chance it. ❤️
I really like this post Diane – your special breakfast which looks very Spring-y and even Easter-y. That is a very sweet note – your grandchildren love and appreciate you and your love, devotion and treats are making them into wise little kids. Keep up the good work.
I don’t know if they will by the time this virus is over! 🤣😂🤣😂
Oh yes, they will! They will look back on this with great love and it will be something that stands out in their lives forever. I hope all your family stays well.
Thank you for your words of encouragement. They have been here 2 weeks tomorrow. They miss their mom and my 5 year old grandson has wet the bed 3 times. He doesn’t normally but this isn’t normal. It is one of the hardest things we will have to do at our age but it must be done.❤️
You’ll do it and the little guy will adjust soon. 🙂 Can they see their folks on facetime? That thing is a life saver. They can just hang out in the room with you. I imagine they are very very busy and not as much time to do it. We all appreciate the sacrifices, believe me. They are heroes and so are you.
Yes they FT and she came to the front door and talked to them. Another time she wore her mask and they went outside while she watched them play. The bad thing is she just bought her first home and moved in Monday. They want to go there to see it so bad. They also miss their dog. They say it takes 21 days to accept change so one more week.
Lovely story
Thank you Kevin!
Aww that was so sweet!! I hope you all stay safe and healthy!
So far so good. You and your family stay safe as well Michelle! Thank you! 💕
