No Bake Granola Bars
I have never had homemade Granola Bars before making these. I always thought the store bought were so good, wow was I mistaken! I am shocked at how wonderful these were compared to store bought. I will never buy another box of Granola Bars from the store again. I put a lot of goodies in my Granola Barsโฆโฆ chocolate chips, peanuts, dried cranberries, raisins, oatmeal, coconut and Rice Krispies. Then there is the peanut butter, honeyโฆ.etc. Of course you can add whatever you want to your own recipe. Check out my recipe below because this was a wonderful combination of flavor!

Diane, come on, you know home made trumps shop bought every time!

Hahaha You are so right! I donโt even enjoy eating out (other than the break from cooking and dishes) because nothing ever tastes good enough.

Sounds delicious, Diane! Are these more soft and chewy, or more crisp?

Soft and chewy. Thank you Robin.

They look great! Glad that they taste as good as they look! You are right, some store-bought bars are yummy but some taste like I’d imagine the scrapings from a hampster’s cage to taste. I know I’m preaching to the converted but they are so straightforwards to make and you can experiment until you find the mix that works best. They are economical too!

Iโm so glad I am not the only one that feels that way. My favorite part is changing the ingredients (nuts etc) and getting a completely different granola bar. For me itโs that I like to eat these for my sweet craving. At least itโs a little healthier….lol

I had them back in the day Diane – I remember my mom making them years ago, then she stopped when I had braces. I had braces on my teeth when I was older – 20-23 years old and was not supposed to eat anything chewy or gooey as they were the traditional braces that wrapped around each tooth, so a pain if you pulled a wire and did any damage with gooey or sticky treats.

Oh how braces have changed…lol

Yes, after I got mine off, they started using the kind that they just cemented a small metal piece on each tooth – I had two headgears to pull back and up and a four rubberbands – only wore the headgear at night (thankfully) – now they are invisible braces.
