Sour Sugar Free Gummy Worms

These were a HUGE-HUGE-HUGE hit with the grandkids and us! They may not look like the best shaped worms in the world but you couldn’t tell the grandkids that. Their imagination had the worms slithering right into their mouths. Sugar free and sour, the entire batch was gone in about 15 minutes between the four of us. These are similar to Knox Blocks but a bit more concentrated so you can pick the worms up with your fingers to eat them.

  1. What a neat idea! Now I want grand kids so I can make some. I wonder if you poured the liquid into candy molds could you produce an adult version. Then I could have them all for myself? 🙂

    • When I make them for us I just cut them into squares. I bet if you sprayed the candy mold with cooking oil you could produce an amazing adult version. Then I will be over to taste test! 🤣😂🤣

    • Keep in mine these aren’t exactly like the gummy worms you buy. They are a very concentrated jello that you pick up with your hands to eat. They are very, very tasty but just different from store bought. Give them a try I bet you will like them.

    • I looked up the molds on Amazon and it looks like you would have to pour each worm with the jello mixture. The way I made them I just cut squiggly lines into the jello which only took a minute. It is just a 8″ x 8″ dish. With my 5 & 8 year old grandchildren their imagination went wild and I wouldn’t bother with a mold. However, for a kids party or older kids I may do the mold. Have a great week!

    • You are so welcome Mary! I seriously should have made a double batch. They would be really fun with a worm mold. They sell them on Amazon but seriously, the grandkids could have cared less they didn’t look exactly like a worm.

  2. Leave it to you to find a way to make something that I have abhorred for years look so tempting! I like that you made them sugar-free. Gone in 15 minutes…impressive! Thanks for sharing.

    • Haha A mold would have looked better but the grandkids imagination did the trick. My grandson even had one about to enter his nose until I yelled…lol Boys will be boys! Thank you!

    • Thank you! You are right, kids like that they are called worms and are sour. Adults with diabetes or watching their carbs love them too! We thought they were delicious!

    • Yes from age 5-60 here…lol I thought there was going to be a cat fight…hahahaha I had to count them out so we could all get some. My granddaughter kept going back with hands open wide!

      • counting gummy worms haha!

good thing they werent gummy marbles or else you woulda been really busy

        😄
