Butterball Cookies
My family has made these Butterball Cookies for as long as I can remember. We have always called them Butterballs because they are made with….butter! I know there are a lot of other names for them as well but they will always be called Butterball Cookies in our family.
Butterballs are one of many of my traditional Christmas cookies that I bake every year. I make these ahead of time and freeze them. I cover them in powdered sugar immediately from taking them out of the freezer and when they thaw, they are ready to eat.
Below is the link to the step by step directions and a printable recipe card.

These are one of my favorites – we call them snowballs ☃️
They are my mother in laws favorite as well. When my Christmas entertaining is done I always give her whatever is left! They do look like snowballs!
They sound delicious. I will give them a try this holiday!
Thank you and enjoy!
Man, I could use one about now
These are the best cookie to freeze. I don’t over eat them and it’s so easy to pull a couple out of the freezer. They taste as good as they did fresh.
You are serious? We can freeze them?
I had no idea.
I keep mine for a month (they are gone by then) and they are still great.
Good to know. Thanks
Wow! I have never heard of these!
If you want a cookie that is not super sweet, this is it. Yet by coating them in powdered sugar they will be sweeter. Simple and festive cookie.
Lovely!
Thank you Valerie!
