Pizza Stuffed Meatloaf
Pizza Stuffed Meatloaf filled with pepperoni, pizza sauce and cheese then topped with more pizza sauce and more cheese! What a great combination and different taste for meatloaf!
Ingredients and garlic powder (not shown).
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray a meatloaf pan with cooking spray.
In a medium bowl whisk the egg.
Add the bread crumbs, Italian seasoning, garlic powder and 1/2 cup of the pizza sauce and mix.
Add the ground beef and mix until combined.
Split the hamburger mixture in half.
Place half of the hamburger mixture in the bottom of a meatloaf pan.
Place pepperoni down the middle.
Spoon a thin layer of the pizza sauce on top of the pepperoni.
Sprinkle about a half cup of pizza cheese down the middle.
Put the rest of the hamburger mixture on top pressing down to seal in the filling.
Pour a thin layer of pizza sauce over the top spreading it evenly to the edges.
Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 60 minutes or until meat is cooked through.
Remove from the oven.
Sprinkle cheese on top and put it back in the oven.
Remove from the oven after 3-5 minutes or when the cheese melts.
Let it sit for five minutes then cut and serve.

1 lb ground beef
1 egg
1 cup pizza sauce, divided in two
1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs
1/4 tsp Italian seasonings
1/4 tsp garlic powder
14 pepperoni pieces
4 oz shredded pizza cheese (like Mozzarella)
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Spray a meatloaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.
In a medium bowl, whisk the egg. Whisk in 1/2 cup pizza sauce, bread crumbs, Italian seasonings, and garlic powder. Add the ground beef and mix well.
Divide the meatloaf mixture in half and place half in the bottom of a meatloaf pan.
Place pepperoni in two rows down the center and away from the edges. Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce on top of the pepperoni. Sprinkle about half the cheese down the middle.
Top with the remaining ground beef mixture sealing in the filling. Completely cover the top with last 1/2 cup of pizza sauce.
Bake for 60 minutes or until ground beef is cooked through. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the remainder of the cheese on top. Put back into the oven for 3-5 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Let it sit for five minutes before removing from the pan and serving.

This was the first one I made. I thought I would try it with just cheese, pepperoni and sauce inside to see how it would turn out. Since it turned out good I may add mushrooms, onions etc. next time. I think the veggies will need to be cooked first though. It’s fun creating new recipes.
We love meatloaf and I bet the pepperoni gives it a nice flavor. Can’t wait to try it.
