Rotini Hamburger Casserole

This is a great dish that just about anyone would enjoy. You can also make this with rigatoni or any other type of pasta. It is a nice change from spaghetti. I used to always make this with rigatoni but one day I didn’t have any and used the rotini instead. Now, I won’t make it any other way. The sauce and ground beef get stuck in the rotini making every bite full of flavor. I like to turn to this recipe whenever I am short on time because I can make it in the morning or the night before and put it in the refrigerator until I’m ready to bake it.

Only four ingredients in this casserole.

Peel and dice your onion.

Cook the ground beef and the onion while you boil the water for the pasta.

Cook and drain the pasta.

Put the pasta back into the pan and add the ground beef with onion, spaghetti sauce and mix well.

Pour into a four quart casserole with a lid and bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.

Remove from the oven and grate fresh parmesan cheese on top, optional. Garnish with parsley and let sit for five minutes without the lid then serve.

      • Isn’t it funny how kids just love anything that resembles spaghetti! I don’t think I have heard of a child who doesn’t like it, which is good because you can put so much flavour and goodness into the sauce!
