These are one of my favorite cookies that I used to buy at Amish Country. This is my copycat recipe of their cookie. Your family will love you for making this one!

Never eaten or made a Whoopie Pie but this looks delicious Diane
Oh my word, these look delicious! Will have to give this recipe a go! 🙂
They are addicting, thank you Paul.
That looks so GOOD! I’ve made red velvet whoopie pies before and made the mistake of using wax paper instead of parchment paper, lol. The whoopie pies turned out just fine, but I was very lucky the paper didn’t catch fire.
Oh no! As long as there wasn’t a fire and the whoopie pies weren’t ruined, lesson learned. There is nothing worse than to put all the work and ingredients into a recipe only to have it unable to eat! I’m glad they still turned out.
Yes, It was a learning experience. The whoopie pies turned out just fine (thankfully.) You’re right: it’s horrid making something and wasting time, effort, and ingredients when it turns out inedible.
Whoopie pies are always such a treat!
Yes! 😋
I made them once for my family and we loved them. Visually they remind me of the Southern treat “Moon Pies,” but being homemade Whoopie Pies are so much better!
We used to buy Moon Pies from the store years ago. I used to love them too but I doubt they are the same ones you are referring to Linda. I agree, nothing like a Whoopie Pie!
These look delicious and so beautifully made.
Thank you so much Bernadette. 🥰
Now I want one of these … I saw a display of “Oreo Cakesters” at Meijer one day. They are a soft version of an Oreo cookie and look just like these.
I have never heard of Oreo Cakesters. Couldn’t possibly compare to my favorite Whoopie Pies! 🤣
I think they are something new Diane. The display I saw had pretty small boxes, so not as big as your Whoopie pies. I just Googled and eight in a (small) box. They also have peanut butter creme flavor. Oreos has too many types of flavors to count anymore – original is best!
I agree except I do love the double stuffed! Lol
I don’t think I’ve tried them. I tried the mint and something with purple for the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.
I just knew it was something I was going to like when I looked at your feature photo! Yeah for Whoopie Pies!
They are the best!!!! Thank you my friend!
