We’re on the east central coast of Florida. Lots of rain – no wind yet. Ducks are swimming in the puddles and frogs are croaking this morning.

Yes hope you are all safe. Are you ok, Diane? I have a friend in Miami who is hunkering down now with her husband and 1 year old. Scary!

Yes thank you Ab. Whatโs amazing is my parents went through 3 hurricane, one was hurricane Charlie. They are older now and moved back here 2 years ago to be close to me. They lived in Port Charlotte where Ian made shore, I believe. I went crazy with worry with Charlie. I couldnโt contact them for days. This one they would have lost everything.

Thank you for this! I took my sister out to lunch to get her away from the news. She needed a distraction. She and her husband have a condo south of Venice. So we are praying all is fairly okay.
Prayers for everyone!
Glad your parents are back in this area.

My sister did not know about her condo for days. But they came out okay. They are waiting for their friends, who went over to check on things, to tell them when the power goes back on. They had a little bit of water damage but nothing that can not get fixed.
The damage in SW Florida is horrifying!

Iโm glad she didnโt have a lot of damage. It is unbelievable what we are seeing on TV. So sad hearing about all the lives lost too.

We are in Fort Myers. We’re safe with minimal damage, but we have friends who have lost everything. The devastation is unbelievable. We’re still trying to process it. We appreciate everyone’s prayers. I’m including a link to our church if anyone is interested in contributing to relief efforts and aren’t sure whether your help will be used well. I can guarantee that everything that goes through our church goes straight to our community. Even now, my husband and son are there giving out food, water, and supplies and helping with the clean-up.

I am so glad you are OK but sad for your friends! I did remove your link to the church, however, anyone interested in helping can contact you directly. I did see you had the link on your site as well. Best of luck for all of Florida. ๐
