It’s Friday What’s For Dinner 4-22-22

Anyone that makes a homemade dinner is welcome to type the name of one recipe prepared, in the comments, then we can all scroll through the comments for recipe ideas. This will be a weekly Friday post and only recipes on the Friday posts will be allowed.

If someone wants your recipe and asks, there will be no pressure to share it, it’s up to you. I will accept links only to the recipe, however, it may take me a few days to approve it so I can make sure the link is legitimate and not spam. NO SPAM WILL BE ALLOWED, ONLY RECIPES OR YOU WILL BE BLOCKED.

I find the hardest part of making dinner isn’t the process, but figuring out what to make. So go ahead and post ONE RECIPE ONLY PER WEEK in the comments or feel free to just read what others have made. Either way, I hope we all get some great ideas to make our meal planning easier.

I will not be commenting on the ”It’s Friday What’s For Dinner” posts as this is your recipes to share with everyone.

My Friday What’s For Dinner in the picture above is my Slow Cooker Rustic Au Gratin Potatoes.

  1. A Friday staple…
Macaroni with garlic and oil (Pasta con olio, also known as agli olio)

Brown some chopped garlic in olive oil
Salt some water and bring it to a boil.
Add your favorite macaroni (pasta) but this works best with spaghetti or linguini.
Drain well and return to the pot.
Pour the garlic and oil over the macaroni and mix very well. Then,
let it stand covered for a few minutes.
Serve with some good (not Kraft) parmesan cheese.
    Simple, quick and delicious!!
    Tutti a tavola e mangiare!

  2. Can’t wait to see some ideas that others have. I am not much of a cook, so it is difficult for me to come up with ordinary, every day recipes that my family will eat. Those potatoes look delicious.

    • Me too the more ideas the better. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy. Think simple like meatloaf, roast, burgers, chicken…anything you may serve to your family. Thank you!

  3. Green Hot Dogs (number of hot dogs depends on number of people; figure at least 2 per person, maybe 3)
Ingredients: Hot dogs, pickle wedges, cheddar cheese slices cut in quarters, bacon, hot dog buns
Slice your favorite brand of hot dog vertically down the center but do not cut all the way through.
Insert into the sliced hot dog one pickle wedge and one slice of cheese.
Wrap bacon around the hot dog diagonally (picture a candy cane) and secure with toothpicks that have been soaked in water to prevent burning. Skewers are also fine; just more clean-up.
Grill on low barbecue until the bacon is crisp.
Serve on bun with fries, chips, salad – whatever side dish floats your boat. Remember to remove the toothpicks! Ouch!!
    ENJOY!!
It’s perfectly acceptable to add more than one slice of cheese for that extra-cheesiness! 🌭 🥓 🧀

      • My southern daughter-in-law introduced us to GHD and we looked at her like she had three heads – until we bit into one. It’s amazing how the pickle retains its crispness after grilling the dog so you’ve got the crunch of the bacon, the meaty bite of the dog, the velvety smoothness of the cheese and the snap of the pickle. They’re phenomenal and the kiddos love them! Give them a try. Hope you’re doing ok! 💕

      • My grandkids will love them! I had my first good day today, finally, but I’m exhausted now. We worked outside getting all the furniture out. Tomorrow I’m hoping to clean out my 2 small ponds, I have so much to do before surgery! Thank you for asking Nancy❤️

      • Wow! That’s a lot of work for someone just getting back on their feet. Take it easy. You need to be strong for the surgery. If you’re anything like me you’ll want to get it all done before hand but be careful not to exhaust yourself. There’s always stuff that needs getting done! Take care 💕

      • Hmm – well I could have used the oatmeal make-in-advance. 🙂 Other than that, I have no tips to share unfortunately and my crockpot dinners are dumping in various cans of veggies, then noodles and canned chicken. People would say “oh this woman must have read the cookbook called ‘A Man, A Can, A Plan’ back in the day.”
