Cake Mix Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

Do you need to make a dessert in a hurry? In about 30 minutes you can have a 9” x 13” pan of Cake Mix Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars. I have to admit, I was a little skeptical about this recipe but it turned out great, my family loved it and it was a super easy one bowl recipe that they devoured in less than 24 hours!

Ingredients

Spray a 9” x 13” baking dish with cooking oil.

In a large bowl using a large spoon

combine the cake mix, eggs, butter and vanilla.

Add the chocolate chips and stir to combine well.

Using a spatula, or your hands sprayed with the

cooking oil, pour the batter into the prepared

pan and press the dough evenly into the pan.

The dough will be very thick.

Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 20 – 25

minutes or until golden brown on the edges.

Let cool completely.

Using a sharp knife cut into bars then serve.

Ingredients

  • 15.25 box yellow cake mix
  • 2 large eggs
  • 8 Tbsp. melted butter (1 stick)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Spray a 9″ x 11” baking dish with cooking oil.
  3. In a large bowl combine the cake mix, eggs, melted butter and vanilla extract with a large spoon.
  4. Add the chocolate chips and stir them into the cookie dough.
  5. Using a spatula, or spray your hands with the cooking oil, place the dough into the prepared pan and press it evenly into the prepared baking dish. The dough will be very thick.
  6. Bake for 20 – 25 minutes or until the edges are a golden brown.
  7. Let cool completely then cut into bars using a sharp knife, then serve.

    • Right Janet and my family devoured it in less than 24 hours! I don’t make a whole lot of sweets for my grandkids and they barely touched the Christmas cookies but this one was a huge hit!

  3. I made these with my granddaughter when I had her while she was doing online school. She was thrilled and so happy to take them home to her family because she had made them.

  4. I’ve been wanting to make these since you posted this and I finally did! They’re easy to make, and excellent with coffee (I think they’d be good with milk too). They’re perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth 🙂
