Hocking Hills Day Trip-Part Two
As promised I will be back to posting recipes again tomorrow. Until then check out the last of our Hocking Hills Day Trip.
Hocking Hills, in Logan Ohio, has unique rock formations, bridges, rock stairways, tunnels, stone walls and the most amazing site of all was Old Man’s Cave! I have many pictures below so scroll on down if you want to see some of the beautiful sites we saw. We walked on top at the highest point then climbed down to the lowest point. There is so much to do here like cabins to rent, a zip line, petting zoo, paddle boats & canoes to name a few. I can’t say enough about this state park so put on your hiking shoes and go visit. http://www.hockinghills.com
This is the new Welcome Center right at the hiking entrance to Old Man’s Cave.
We walked from the upper falls to the lower falls and back.
This is why three people have died here since June. The most recent had a tree limb fall on her. This happened the day after we were there! Even my husband took a tumble scraping up his knee.
The picture below is the Sphinx Head.
This was the only part of the park I thought didn’t fit. It was steps going over the water and pretty ugly!
I hope you enjoyed these pictures as much as we did being there.

Wow!! What a beautiful place!!🌞☕💜
It really is! Thank you Susan and have a great day!
wow – your photos showcase this park so wel. I agree the steps did seem odd – makes one wonder.
Love all the green and just a nature splash today – thanks for that
Thank you I’m glad you enjoyed them. ❤
well done
That looks like a great place to hike with grand formations along the hills. What fun! How long is the trek? Thanks for sharing Diane 😀😀😀
We did so much stopping, looking and picture taking it’s hard to say. With doing all of that I think we were gone about 1 & 1/2 hours (just guessing). It was so amazing….thanks!
I always enjoy reading your recipes, but it’s so nice to see photos of your part of the world. The park looks like a wonderful place to visit.
For me too…lol I have lived here for 60 years and never been to Hocking Hills! Go figure! 😂🤣😂
It’s beautiful
It sure is isn’t it. Thanks!
Wow! Gorgeous park…and you had really good weather!
It was perfect! We planned on going the week before but it was 94 degrees! I am so glad we waited.
No doubt!
Stunningly beautiful! <3
Thank you Lydia it was a beautiful hike!
Stunning pictures, Diane!! Your country has such unique stone structures and wonderful waterways!! It’s concerning about industry’s impact on them, which has been in the news lately, as such nature is not easily rehabilitated. I really love these travelogues!!

Thank you Donna! Yes if our society doesn’t start taking better care of our wildlife and nature in general we will lose it. So many birds have gone extinct along with many endangered species. Haven’t seen a post from you for a while. I hope you are doing well!❤
Beautiful scenery and photos, Diane!
Thank you Tanja! I will never forget seeing it for the first time.
What a wonderful destination! 💕
It really was and we sure did enjoy it!
I love those types of days. 💕
What a great trail! Connecting with nature sometimes is a must 🙂 Really beautiful!
Yes it really was and I can’t get enough of nature. Thank you!
Dang, That looks wicked fun!
It was and every time we saw a part roped off I thought “That’s where somebody died! I can’t believe the day after we were there a woman died.
I love Hocking Hills! I love about 40 minutes away!
Wow you are so lucky! There is so much to do there.
The place looks so serene.
It definitely was! Thank you!
I lived there for awhile. The castles are cool.
Castles! I didn’t even know that. What a beautiful area to live at.
These photos are beautiful! It looks like a fantastic place to visit!
It was gorgeous and I can’t believe I waited this long to go there. Thanks for reading Laci!
You are welcome!
Beautiful photos, Diane! Thanks so much for sharing them!!
Thank you Anita! It is my pleasure sharing them it was such a gorgeous place to see.
Wow this place looks really interesting and neat😊
It was gorgeous.
So very beautiful! I’m glad your husband’s ok.
Must have been a downer to leave!
He is thank you! We were ready to go as it was a rough terrain for two old people that are out of shape…lol Since it is only 3 hours away we can go back anytime.
Looks like a beautiful trail. Thanks for sharing!!
My pleasure! ❤
Beautiful pictures! 💜
Thank you so much!
It looks amazing, but how sad about the people who died.
I know as we stood in certain spots we could see how easy it would be to step off a cliff. I would think eventually some of the large rocks would fall but we didn’t see any signs of it.
What a gorgeous area! Your photos are beautiful, too. 🙂
It really is and it’s the first time I went there…..it’s only 3 hours away! What was I thinking…lol Thank you!
Wow! So many gorgeous photos, Diane. How terrifying about the tree limb. I’m so glad you made it out safely minus your husband’s tumble. Hope he’s all healed up now! Thanks so much for sharing with us. 😁
You’re welcome and thank you Hunida! They found out kids tossed the limb over the cliff! This poor woman shouldn’t have died.
Oh my gosh, no way?! Did those kids get in trouble?!
Yes they were arrested. One kid texted someone about what happened and it was turned over to the police. His guilt got the better of him. So many lives destroyed that day.
OH MY GOSH, that is soooo crazy, Diane. Wow. Definitely too many lives destroyed… 🙁
