Cheesy Baked Asparagus
Asparagus season is just about over in my yard so I picked the last of my homegrown Asparagus and made this Cheesy Baked Asparagus recipe. Asparagus drizzled with butter, sprinkled with herbs and topped with cheese then baked in the oven……what can be better?
Adapted from: Janets Appalachian Kitchen
Ingredients
Cover a baking sheet with foil.
Lay clean asparagus flat onto the foil.
Drizzle the asparagus with the melted butter.
Combine the garlic powder,
onion powder, pepper and salt.
Sprinkle over the asparagus.
Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese on top.
Bake in a 400 degree preheated
oven for 15 minutes.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle
the Mozzarella Cheese on top.
Sprinkle with Italian seasonings.
Bake an additional 5-7 minutes or until
the cheese starts to brown.
Place on a serving plate and serve.

I started putting cheese on mine and never looked back! Bacon is another favorite. I cook it, crumble it and throw it in with the asparagus.

Definitely going to try this on some of the last I can get this season 🙂 I have so many good asparagus recipes and never enough time to try all of them before it’s out, I want to be mad at you for giving me another amazing-sounding one but I can’t 😂

I tried your previous recipe with just the parmesan cheese backed in the oven, and that’s the only way I eat it now!

Sometimes simple is best! I still like it with cooked and crumbled bacon added with the parmesan too. I’m so glad you like it Joni!

Nope. I’ve never been able to cook asparagus just right. I only eat them when we eat out.

It’s awesome that you grow your own Asparagus. I never thought about doing that. I just make sure to buy the nice thick asparagus at the market. And they are easy to cook, as you say 🙂 Nice post, Diane!

I have cut back a lot on what I grow. I not only grow asparagus but rhubarb, blueberries, 10 herbs, strawberries, tomatoes, cucumbers, okra, swiss chard, raspberries, peppers and jalapeno peppers. There is nothing better than homegrown. Thank you so much Sir Albertus!
