Don’t ever buy Brownies from a box again. These are the best Homemade Chocolate Brownies I have ever made. This recipe is so easy, delicious and it costs just pennies to make!!!! Add frosting if you wish. I didn’t add frosting because I made these for my grandkids and they don’t have a huge sweet tooth yet my 4 year old grandson ate two!

Here is my link to Hershey’s One Bowl Buttercream Chocolate Frosting that I posted a while back. It tastes amazing and will be perfect with these brownies. http://indianeskitchen.com/2018/02/24/hersheys-one-bowl-buttercream-frosting

    • OMG Linda! My 4 year old grandson would have eaten the entire batch if I had let him. He had 2 pieces last night and woke up asking for the brownies. There were only 2 pieces left tonight (I only had one and my husband none) and we told him they were his sisters because he had more than she did. He ran to his room crying! She decide to take her 2 pieces home and she told him he could have one at home..hahahahaha I think he liked them! New grandson is coming for lunch with mom, dad and my mother in law tomorrow. Chicken pot pie for lunch. I had my husband pick up store bought cookies because I didn’t have time to bake and the brownies are all gone.

      • That’s funny with your 4-year old grandson Diane. What kid does not love brownies? That is so funny that he went crying to his room because no more brownies! Chicken pot pie sounds good and you’ll enjoy that visit – he’s probably getting big already, but you said you were keeping current with pictures on social media so you may not notice it as much when you see him.

  1. Delicious! I do agree about making homemade over box. It takes a few minutes to measure the ingredients but it is worth the time! 💕

    • You know I do but have no idea where I put it! That is one of the reasons I started my blog….to organize my recipes! 🤣😂🤣😂 When I come across it I will do a blog on it. I remember they were very good!

      • Excellent! The first few times I made them, they were perfect. Strangely, in more recent attempts, the top was dark but the inside was still a bit gooey. I’m thinking maybe I didn’t whip it long enough. It said three minutes or until light and fluffy. I don’t know what light and fluffy is supposed to look like, so I just did it three minutes. Maybe years ago when I first made them, I had a better concept of this. They still tasted great, but I know they can be better and more attractive looking.

    • Thank you for being so kind Stacey. I know I do a little too many steps but I figure there are always brand new cooks out there and what seems simple to me will not be simple to them. I would love knowing a beginner cook successfully made one of my recipes. I would love to write cookbooks but I would have no idea where to even begin.

  2. Brownies are a perfect dessert. They’re so easy to make, and you can dress them up or dress them down.

It’s been far too long since I made brownies. I think I’ll have to make a batch this weekend.
