Pizza dough filled with pizza sauce, pepperoni and topped with all that cheese! Of course they taste great! You can add more ingredients like mushrooms, onions, green pepper….you get the idea. These are wonderful to make up a batch and then let the kids microwave a few for an after school snack, lunch or even a meal. My husband and I loved them as much as the kids did!

My grandchildren, age 3 and 6, wanted pizza for supper. My 6 year old wanted to make the pizza so I said how about we try something new and make Pizza Muffins? She agreed but only if she could make them and take the pictures for my blog. Yes she has me wrapped around her little finger! Well she did a great job but I cut the dough and took care of the oven part only because those are a little challenging for a 6 year old. They tasted great and the kids loved them.

Ingredients

Take the pizza dough out of the container.

Unroll it and use a rolling pin to roll into a long rectangle.

Place spoonful’s of pizza sauce along the center

of the pizza dough. Keeping it 1/2″ from the edge,

use the back of the spoon and spread the pizza sauce out.

Cut the pepperoni into small pieces and place them evenly over the pizza sauce.

Roll the dough lengthwise pinching the edge to seal.

Using a serrated knife, cut the dough in half making 2 pieces.

Cut those 2 pieces in half making 4 pieces.

Cut each of the 4 pieces into 3 pieces making a total of 12 pieces.

Carefully place the 12 pieces into a greased muffin pan.

Place pizza cheese on top.

minutes or until the cheese is turning brown.

Let cool for a few minutes.

Run a rubber spatula around the edge of each muffin to

loosen the muffins and they will pop right out, then serve.

  1. Looks great! Im not big pepperoni fan, but I’m sure any meat would do. I just made something similiar with chicken in buffalo sauce, and learned a lesson along the way. More meat, less dough. 🙂

  2. Great idea! And nice to do with your grandkids. Bet they loved it. I’m trying something similar for my little one but she is still under one so trying my best to keep zero salt in the food.
