Sweet Potato Fries lightly coated with your favorite oil & tossed with seasonings then baked in the oven for a healthier way to serve fries to your family. My husband never liked sweet potatoes prepared any which way but he did these!

    • Yes they take a while to cook to get crispy. I bake my regular fries at 450 for 40-45 minutes. I may bake these like that next time to see if they get done quicker but regardless, they turned out great.

      • OMG I wanted to so bad but the grandkids were here and I made 2#’s of them. I don’t think I could have cooked them all at once so I opted for the oven instead. I will do that down the road and post it though.

      • The trick is the right temp & time & thickness so they are crisp and not burned on the outside, cooked on inside. There’s a huge difference between 400 & 450. So 400 is best for these guys. Looking forward to trying – I haven’t yet had success with crispy on outside sweet spot.

  1. Thought at first this was another in your series of airfryer tests – I would have loved that, although it’s just getting the time and temperature settings adjusted for the perfect fry.
Thanks. I love sweet potato fries! Will try this, even if my husband (so picky) doesn’t like them. More for me!

  2. These are some of our favorites! I toss a little crushed cayenne pepper flakes in ours! 😊

    • I would love that but I don’t think the grandkids would have…lol I love hot and spicy and they always kid me about how I should just eat the hot peppers plain. Hahaha

  3. Yum yum yum and so healthy! I will have to try these.

On the note of sweet potatoes, I use them in stews instead of regular potatoes and they add a nice sweetness to the broth!

    Happy Canadian Thanksgiving weekend!

      • You know I have never had a sweet potato except out in a restaurant – my mom did not make them, and I don’t think they were popular in Canada, so it was not something she grew up eating, thus none for us on the menu. I need to expand my horizons and try sweet potato fries. [P,.S,. – you would be proud of me Diane … I went grocery shopping today 2X – whew. This was for pantry items for over the Winter. I have bought a few new type things to make with my crock-pot dinners, like noodles nade from cauliflower, chickpeas and zucchini (that’s three types of noodles). Got the veggie noodles store brand last time I went. So, they had some tortlli (spinach and cheese) but dried in a package, not in the refrigerated section that is near the pasta noodles and sauces. Wasn’t sure about getting that – maybe they won’t cook in the crock-pot. Will wait til I am more advanced. 🙂 then try.) I’m looking forward to the 2-3 Mexican meals I’ll make over the Winter. Having fun trying new things –
am so glad you convinced me to get it.

      • How wonderful! I’m glad you got the shopping done since Covid is coming back strong! I would think the dried tortellini would work fine. If you have to, cook them accordingly to the package directions and put them in the crock pot at the end of cooking your meal.

      • OK, I will get them then – I have to wait til the laptop is off there as I have nowhere to put it in the meantime. Also problematic … when he finally puts us on Windows 10 and I use it, where am I going to put the one I’m on now. I already have the old one in my room and a backup Windows 7 my boss got (in case this one had issues) … my problem has been not enough plugs in the house … it will still be the same problem. I will figure it out over the Winter I guess. Our Governor lost her second appeal to keep her measures in place to keep safe. I don’t know if she’ll file any more appeals. We are really on the rise strong too Diane – today there were 30 new deaths and 1,237 new confirmed cases … not happy to hear that at all.

      • Ohio too we had 2,039 new cases just yesterday. I’m not sure what the death total was. I’m already freaking out because I am having a small birthday party for my 2 year old grandson on the 23rd. I will have 10-11 here, including an 91-80-85-62-61 and younger. Then we repeat it for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

      • Wow – I can’t “like’ this news … we shattered a record today, more cases than in April (April 14th the previously high record) … they say it is due to “finding” new cases, but still. Well, are you intending to have it outdoors, maybe in the new cabana? I guess a warm afternoon might work … Thanksgiving and Christmas in your state … dicey for outside. Hopefully this surge will not continue. Sigh.

      • I’m not sure what we will do. It will be a short party, just ice cream, cake and gifts. After three grandkids all weekend and my husband works 5 hours on Sunday when the party is, I am on my own. I don’t have enough energy to feed everyone too. I even ordered the cake…lol

  4. I love sweet potatoes like yours my hubby doesn’t but he does like fries so I may try these and not tell him and see what he says 🙂 They do look delicious, Diane 🙂

    • Yes and don’t be afraid to cook them longer to get them crispier. Hard to give an exact time due to the thickness. I have some now I want to try in the air fryer to see the difference.

  5. Funny thing. I can’t eat sweet potatoes. Can’t even look at them. But I did taste a fry once and actually liked it…until I found out what it was.

    • Hahahaha the way our mind works. As you know I cook almost anything so to get my kids, when they were young, and my grandkids to try them I always say it’s chicken. However, usually my husband ruins it and tells them! 😂
