Sour Sugar Free Gummy Worms
These were a HUGE-HUGE-HUGE hit with the grandkids and us! They may not look like the best shaped worms in the world but you couldn’t tell the grandkids that. Their imagination had the worms slithering right into their mouths. Sugar free and sour, the entire batch was gone in about 15 minutes between the four of us. These are similar to Knox Blocks but a bit more concentrated so you can pick the worms up with your fingers to eat them.

What a neat idea! Now I want grand kids so I can make some. I wonder if you poured the liquid into candy molds could you produce an adult version. Then I could have them all for myself? 🙂
When I make them for us I just cut them into squares. I bet if you sprayed the candy mold with cooking oil you could produce an amazing adult version. Then I will be over to taste test! 🤣😂🤣
Thank you, thank you, thank you💕💕💕💕 I love gummy worms but had to give them up because of the sugar. Off to make my own😊
Keep in mine these aren’t exactly like the gummy worms you buy. They are a very concentrated jello that you pick up with your hands to eat. They are very, very tasty but just different from store bought. Give them a try I bet you will like them.
This is a great idea! I wonder if putting them into molds would work. If so, it may save some time!
I looked up the molds on Amazon and it looks like you would have to pour each worm with the jello mixture. The way I made them I just cut squiggly lines into the jello which only took a minute. It is just a 8″ x 8″ dish. With my 5 & 8 year old grandchildren their imagination went wild and I wouldn’t bother with a mold. However, for a kids party or older kids I may do the mold. Have a great week!
Such a creative idea!
Thanks they were delicious!
I’ve got to try making the sugar free sour gummy worms! My grandkids would ove them!!
Mine sure did!!! They were so easy.
Heavenly recipe.
Thank you Sumit they disappeared fast!
Yum!!!
Thanks! I don’t eat sugar free anything but I’ll tell you, these were good!
Hey Diane, Thank you so much for this recipe! I can’t wait to make these for my grandchildren🥰❤️
You are so welcome Mary! I seriously should have made a double batch. They would be really fun with a worm mold. They sell them on Amazon but seriously, the grandkids could have cared less they didn’t look exactly like a worm.
Leave it to you to find a way to make something that I have abhorred for years look so tempting! I like that you made them sugar-free. Gone in 15 minutes…impressive! Thanks for sharing.
Haha A mold would have looked better but the grandkids imagination did the trick. My grandson even had one about to enter his nose until I yelled…lol Boys will be boys! Thank you!
Diane,
beautiful, red color, so the dish is attractive for young and old.
greetings
Thank you! You are right, kids like that they are called worms and are sour. Adults with diabetes or watching their carbs love them too! We thought they were delicious!
This is a brilliant idea!!
I wish you could have seen us all with our hands grabbing them! Even my husband loved them! I easily could have made a double or triple batch. Thanks Lisa!
looks like a treat for any age yup!
Yes from age 5-60 here…lol I thought there was going to be a cat fight…hahahaha I had to count them out so we could all get some. My granddaughter kept going back with hands open wide!
counting gummy worms haha!
good thing they werent gummy marbles or else you woulda been really busy
😄
This looks so fun!
It was we all were grabbing 2-3 at a time. I should have made more. lol
I would devour them all, I love sour gummies!
That would be fun – kids would just go crazy for that Diane. Do you make the gummy worms in the pudding dirt cups too? I think that is the cutest thing with the chocolate pudding, Oreo cookie crumbles and the gummy worms on top. https://www.myfoodandfamily.com/recipe/057763/dirt-cups
No I didn’t. That would have defeated the sugar free version….hahaha
Whoaaa!! Great idea I might attempt at some point with my kiddo!
Such an easy, quick and delicious recipe. I bet you will like them too! Thanks and have a great weekend!
Oh, this is going to be HUGE HUGE hit in my house too! I love gummy bears and would simply LOVE to make them at home! Thanks, Diane!
You’re welcome! Keep in mind these are different than the store bought but taste amazing! Also, the leftovers (if you have any) must be refrigerated.
Thanks! Though I don’t think there will be any leftovers! lol!
Jelly they say is good for us. I can give this a try later today as still sorting timbers for my work shed.
Do you ever take a day off?
How fun! I want to make some for myself…just to test before giving any to children, you understand…
Oh yes I totally understand. That is why I fought my grandkids for them…hahaha
Bahaha! That is awesome.
