Slow Cooker Chicken Gizzards & Hearts
Slow Cooker Chicken Gizzards & Hearts was my most viewed recipe for 2018! Also, below is my second most viewed recipe for 2018! I am always amazed by the recipes that get the most views. I love to try different types of food and these two have been two of my favorite “different” food recipes. They aren’t for everyone, but don’t say yuck until you actually taste them. I think I like the livers a bit more than the gizzards.

I’ve never had the hearts before. Are they like the livers or gizzards?

My grandmother always cooked gizzards in the pressure cooker and served them over wide egg noodles in a creamy sauce. 10/10 would eat again.

I wish I could remember. We would arrive after church to the sound of the pressure cooker and moments later she would be draining the noodles from another pot, then melting butter in that pot as the noodles drained. Something flourish or cornstarch-ish was sprinkled in the sizzling butter, then liquid from the now opened pressure cooker, as well as a hearty splash of milk.

The one that even foreigners like to eat is the Korean blood sausages. Sounds gross, but I’m surprised how there’s a South American dish similar.
And stir-fried intestines is another one that’s pretty good.
The one body part I can’t get myself to try is the beef tongue. Comes in the can. Oy! 😕

My dad always eats blood sausage. I never cared for it. But beef tongue is amazing!

I’ve never had heart before … wow, on the views though. I’d have thought it would be something more along the line of chocolate!

Liver is about the only one I don’t care for. My Mom made us eat liver as a kid and I hated it!…lol

I’ve never had a chicken gizzard or heart, but I have had a lamb’s brain and heart once. It was surprisingly quite nice.
