Adult Pigs In A Blanket
Hot Italian Sausage, crescent rolls and Jalapeño Jam are the only three ingredients in this delicious and easy hors d’oeuvre that would be great to serve on Super Bowl Sunday or for any occasion.
Adapted from Becky Hardins recipe.
Spray regular size cupcake pans with cooking oil.
This recipe will make 16 Pigs in the Blanket
so you will need two pans.
Remove the crescent roll dough from the can.
Cut the dough into 16 even pieces without unrolling.
A sharp knife works well to do this.
Roll each piece long enough so it can fit tightly around the sausage.
Pinch the ends together making a circle.
Cut each sausage into 4 pieces for a total of 16 pieces.
Put one sausage piece, cut sides facing up and down,
into the center of each hole in the pan.
Place the dough circles around the sausage.
Add a small dollop of jam on the top of each sausage piece.
Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 12 – 15 minutes
or until the crescent rolls are a golden brown. Let the
pan sit on a cooling rack for 5 minutes then serve.

Ingredients
- 1 – 8 oz. can crescent rolls
- 4 hot Italian sausage links, cooked
- 4 Tbsp. Jalapeno pepper jam
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Spray two cupcake pans with cooking oil as this recipe makes 16 hors d’oeuvres.
- Cut each cooked Italian sausage link into four even pieces, you will have 16 total pieces. Place the sausage pieces cut side down into the center of the cupcake pan holes.
- Remove the dough from the can, do not unroll.
- Slice the dough into 16 even pieces, I cut mine in half lengthwise first. A sharp knife makes this easy.
- Take each piece and roll them into a ball.
- Roll the dough ball between your hands making a small rope shape just long enough to wrap around a piece of sausage. Pinch the ends together making a circle.
- Place the dough over the sausage and touching the bottom of the pan.
- Place a dollop of jam on the top of each piece of sausage.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until the crescent rolls are a golden brown.
- Let the pan sit on a cooling rack for 5 minutes then serve.

Wow
Thanks
That looks so good!
Thank you so much!
Great idea to cook in cupcake pan.
It was the perfect size, thanks!
Yummy … I will definitely have a few piggies, thanks!
You’re very welcome! 💕
Sorry, it sounds good, but my stomach would scream bloody murder if I ate that many spices!
Then you my dear get mild Italian sausage and maybe an apple or grape jelly! Lol
Sounds like a plan!
Cute idea, Diane, but I would have to substitute mild sausage and jelly. LOL! I’m a wimp when it comes to hot and spicy food.
There’s nothing wrong with that Janet! Thanks!
Jalapeño makes everything better!
Oh yes!!! Especially when you make it yourself.
Yes ma’am!
Doesn’t this just sound delicious!
Thank you Nancy! 💕
These look so easy and yummy. I know my kids would love these, especially with the jalapeno jam.
The jam really gave it such a wonderful flavor. I had some in my freezer and figured it was a great way to use it. Thank you Carla!
I love it! I think the Jalapeño jam is great. And you’re right, perfect for Super Bowl weekend!
Thank you! The sweet hot jam really gave it a great flavor.
What a great idea. 😋
Thank you 💕
such a lovely recipe!!
Thank you and have a great weekend! ❤️
Wonderful recipe, the first time I see. I will try to do for dinner, there will be something other than bread. Thank you for sharing the recipe. Best regards
I hope you enjoy it Ultra! Take care my dear friend! ❤️
I love the traditional Little Smokies with crescent rolls, and I know I would love these. Unlike some of your readers, I love hot and spicy. Quite a different idea!
Thank you Linda the sweetness of the jalapeno jam with the heat of the sausage was a great combination. Obviously I’m with you on the hot and spicy. As I get older that may change…lol
Actually I have heard that as you get older, your sense of taste decreases. Myth? I don’t know.
At first sight I thought those were a dessert! “Adult pigs in a blanket.” What a great name! Looks good, Diane! Great timing for the super bowl, of course. You’re always thinking ahead. 🙂
Awe thank you! I posted the dessert today…lol
Excellent!
Very clever Diane – my mom made them lengthwise but the Bob Evans’ pork sausage, not the spicy bite-sizes ones here.
Oh yes I love them that way too! I have been on a hot Italian sausage kick lately. I even made another new one tonight. Lol
Hot Italian sausage is perfect for these bitter cold days! Better stock up for this weekend and through to next weekend!
Yes I am so mad! I have an appointment with a general surgeon on Tuesday! My daughter has offered to come and pick me up but it is not sounding like it is going to be possible. Ugh!
Oh no! If you can cancel, do so Diane. They have been using “blizzard” a lot the last few days, yet the two radio stations with weather reports I listen to, both say something to the effect: “the weather balloons and models are not giving me a clear reading so it might not be as bad it looks.” I hope they are right about that.
Well they shut down our roads and we are expecting 10” total! My husband got stuck in the driveway coming home from work. I was so happy he made it home!
Wow – stuck in the driveway from all that snow. We were expecting 10 inches here but just got 8 inches which was bad enough as a good deal of it drifted and was at least a foot tall. We had expected a comparable snowfall this Thursday but they’ve reduced it to 3-4 inches. Enough of Winter already and with these brutal temps on top of it. We are getting -5 or -6 tonight they say. I hope they are wrong. I hope it’s back to normal now for you Diane? 32 days until Spring!
Woo hoo I am counting the days…lol
