Easy Homemade Coleslaw

Don’t ever buy coleslaw dressing again. This tastes better than Marzetti’s coleslaw dressing to me. It is simple with common ingredients that you probably already have. The easy recipe is below.

In a large bowl combine the vinegar, mayo and sugar.

Make sure all the sugar is dissolved.

Pour the coleslaw mix into the bowl.

Toss well then cover and refrigerate at least 3-4 hours.

I make mine the day before I need it.

Mix well right before serving.

Store leftovers in the refrigerator.

I also made MICROWAVE CORN ON THE COB and CAPRESE TOMATOES for dinner.

It is rare when we don’t have meat with a meal, this was a nice change of taste.

    • Absolutely! I made this for my 4th of July picnic/birthday party, along with potato salad, cookies, deviled eggs, and macaroni salad. I used the bagged slaw mix because it was quick and easy.

    • I grew up with Marzetti’s and I loved it. I don’t like it anymore and I am very happy with my homemade cole slaw dressing. I use this same dressing recipe with my broccoli salad too.

    • They are getting through but WP has completely changed the way I write my posts. I can’t make a big picture or larger lettering. I can’t make SEO for Google and I lost my AI completely. I’m about done blogging!

    • Thank you Vickie! I found if I want a dryer coleslaw, I mix the cabbage and dressing together just before serving. However, we usually eat it wet so I let the mixture sit overnight as it breaks down the cabbage and leaves it creamier, my husband’s favorite way to eat it. I would experiment with the amount you pour over the cabbage and let it sit a few hours, toss and see if you need more. Enjoy!

  1. Yummy coleslaw – one of our favourite salads (in the summer)! And you’re right, it tastes better after it has stood for a little while. We usually add a handful of raisins or dried cranberries too – delish!
