Happy Independence Day USA

I had the grandkids and my daughter over on Saturday to celebrate by watching our neighbor, across the street, put on a 1-1/2 hour fireworks show. It was like a grand finale almost the entire time. They didn’t drink so they acted appropriately and were even quiet. I can’t even begin to think what that must have cost him, perks of having your own business. They filled their yard and road edge with vehicles while we sat in our driveway and watched with a wonderful view and no people, it was a perfect night.

The grandkids did smoke bombs, black snakes, pop its and sparklers. The sparklers, in the picture above, were neon and extra long. We left the dangerous fireworks to the professionals across the street!

I hope you all have a safe and fun 4th of July!

  1. Happy 4th of July. What a treat you all enjoyed and got a front row view of. Enjoy your holiday today!

  2. Happy 4th of July! That was some show you had from across the street. And, you didn’t have to pay for it either! A win-win in my book. I loved the sparkler!

  3. How nice to have your own neighborhood fireworks to watch.

I meant to comment on your bagel post. I’ve saved bagel recipes but never tried making them. I vaguely remember that your son makes bagels

    • It was a fabulous firework show Linda. However, he started shooting them off around June 26th and hasn’t stopped yet. He shoots off huge dud fireworks everyday that are so loud they shake our house. Just today he shot them off three different times. I won’t tell you what I’d like to do with his duds!

      • Oh wow – a “like” for the fireworks show, but not the rest of it. We still have people shooting them off here and its crazy – if it rains, at least there is a break from it. I worry about all those fireworks having one land on the roof – I had burned shingles before. I hope that is okay for your house foundation with all the “explosions”.
