Chocolate Chip Cookies & Chocolate Butterball Cookies

The only CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES I ever make is the Nestle Toll House Cookie recipe. This recipe was even used by my mom while I was growing up and has always been our family favorite.

The entire batch of these CHOCOLATE BUTTERBALLS can be baked on one large baking sheet. They taste great whether you eat them plain or roll them in the cocoa powder mixed with powdered sugar. This is a very low sugar recipe especially if you eat them plain. For the recipe click HERE.

      • A shame if you had to eat the “overflow”. 🙂 My mom would always have a plate of cookies every night around Christmastime … those were cookies that broke or weren’t pretty, so I got them, the rest went into the containers for closer to Christmas. That’s true – I never watched my weight or gave any thought to what treats or sweets I put into my mouth back in the day.

  1. The chocolate butterball is new to me, Diane, and looks really interesting. Can you describe the taste and texture a little more? I like the fact that they’re not super-sweet. Maybe a treat with morning coffee?

    • Perfect with coffee. They are just like the regular butterballs (I will be posting the recipe) only with a mild chocolate flavor. The chocolate flavored powdered sugar adds just enough sweetness. There is very little sugar in the cookie itself but for some reason they still taste great and melt in your mouth. They were even tasty without the powdered sugar. They don’t spread when you bake them so they can all go on one pan, which I love!
