It’s Friday What’s For Dinner 9-30-22

Anyone that makes a homemade dinner is welcome to type one recipe you prepared in the comments, then we can all scroll through the comments for recipe ideas. This will be a weekly Friday post and only recipes on the Friday posts will be allowed.

If someone wants your recipe and asks there will be no pressure to share it, it’s up to you. I will accept links, but only to the recipe, however it may take me a few days to approve it so I can make sure the link is legitimate and not spam. NO SPAM WILL BE ALLOWED, ONLY RECIPES OR YOU WILL BE BLOCKED.

I find the hardest part of making dinner isn’t the process, but figuring out what to make. So go ahead and post ONE RECIPE ONLY EACH FRIDAY in the comments or feel free to just read what others have made. Either way, I hope we all get some great ideas to make our meal planning easier.

My “It’s Friday What’s For Dinner” in the picture above is STOVETOP RED POTATOES.

  1. As we welcome a new neighbor, Ian, dinner will be whatever he allows. I don’t think we have much to worry about here, but we do have enough leftover Chinese food to get us through tonite. Oh well. So it goes.
Stay safe. Stay dry. And maybe say a little prayer for all those affected by this storm.

    • Thank you Michael, you could do this!
Fall is here, everyday is wonderful (My favorite season). Three of my family members have birthdays on Halloween, my Dad, cousin and grandson.

  2. Here’s my recipe of a traditional rice dish in South Africa: Yellow rice with raisins … it’s a kind of sweet rice with spices. Great with any meat dish.
    1 cup (uncooked) rice
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon turmeric
    2 tablespoons white sugar
    1 tablespoon butter
(you can even add 1 cinnamon stick)
Half a cup of seedless raisins
Put all of the above ingredients in a pot on the stove (except for the raisins) and cover with water. Once the water starts to boil, add the raisins and cook on low heat until the rice is cooked and water evaporated. Dish up as a side dish – especially good with meatballs or bobotie (another traditional South African dish).
    Enjoy!

  3. One of my mom’s favorites – those and new potatoes, which she would eat as a meal, sometimes with sliced beefsteak tomatoes. These do look delicious Diane.
