It’s Friday What’s For Dinner 9-9-22

Anyone that makes a homemade dinner is welcome to type one recipe you prepared in the comments, then we can all scroll through the comments for recipe ideas. This will be a weekly Friday post and only recipes on the Friday posts will be allowed.

If someone wants your recipe and asks there will be no pressure to share it, it’s up to you. I will accept links, but only to the recipe, however it may take me a few days to approve it so I can make sure the link is legitimate and not spam. NO SPAM WILL BE ALLOWED, ONLY RECIPES OR YOU WILL BE BLOCKED.

I find the hardest part of making dinner isn’t the process, but figuring out what to make. So go ahead and post ONE RECIPE ONLY EACH FRIDAY in the comments or feel free to just read what others have made. Either way, I hope we all get some great ideas to make our meal planning easier.

My “It’s Friday What’s For Dinner” in the picture above is CARAMEL CORN. Caramel Corn is so expensive to buy and very easy to make! I ended up with a gallon ziplock bag full of Caramel Corn and it is delicious evening snack.

  1. So yummy, I love caramel corn. I was cleaning out my freezer and came upon a ham bone and a couple of chunks of ham. I made a huge pot of Ham and Bean soup and that will be dinner along with cheesy beer bread (your recipe with cheese added). I love this soup and so does my family.
The recipe comes from The Deep South Dish website. I do not use corn and I use cornstarch instead of flour to thicken.

  2. PINEAPPLE CARROT SALAD
    1 cup boiling water
    1 pk. 3oz. lemon Jello
    1/2 cup cold water
1 can (8-1/4 oz.} crushed pineapple – do not drain
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/2 cup of shredded carrots
Pour boiling water on Jello in bowl. Stir until dissolved.
Stir in cold water, pineapple with syrup and salt.
Refrigerate until slightly thickened but not set. Stir in carrots.
    Refrigerate until set.

  3. EASY Linguini and clam sauce

A real Friday night special. If you have no plans, no intentions to order a pizza or just want to fill a little time being creative, try this…

    1 can minced clams
1 can whole clams, rinsed (don’t forget that part)
3-4 cloves garlic, chopped and sliced ( about half of each)
    ¼ cup dry white wine
EVOO to cover the bottom of the pot
( some like to add a tbsp of butter. If you use good olive oil though it is not necessary)

Brown the garlic in the EVOO being careful not to burn it.
Remove from heat and let it settle down. Add wine and mix it up and return to LOW heat.
Add the whole clams and let them swim for a while. Add the minced clams WITH the juice.
Leave the heat on low and let it all simmer.
In a separate pot boil the pasta in salted water until firm…NEVER overcook it, and use the good stuff like Barilla or DiCecco. It is well worth the extra money for this.
Drain the pasta, return it to the pot and pour the clam sauce over it. Mix well and allow it to sit
for a while so the macaroni soaks up some of the sauce.
Serve hot with some good, shaved parmesan cheese and a nice Pinot Grigio.
For a little romantic touch, add some candles and soft music.
    Mangia! Mangia TUTTO!!

  4. One way recipe I have is called “CHUB”
And we found it online from a guy who shared how easy it is
It is one pack of ground beef and then chopped cabbage
Add salt and a little avocado oil and cook until done
We use a cast iron pan and the chub comes out so good!
Add salt and pepper if hot sauce

And sometimes we make cassava flour tortillas to go with it

  5. Well wonders will never end. I had a hard day work did not feel like cooking so friends made me American burgers in seasame bread. Loads of sauce and pilled with tomato and pickles .I had to cut it in two and they laughed but I ate it and enjoyed . Rather difficult to get in mouth had just to bite and get through it. Education in the making . They have gone now only dropped in to give me burger as said over wall too tired to cook tonight. That had Roast goose with us last Christmas and turkey too. So paid me back when I certainly need it for all else would have gone to bed early to rest. They live 500 yards away and are from Arisona and Quay West Florida . Work for Nato as here to stop Putin coming over border into Tallin Estonia and across Europe to me .As Putin is a Pirate war criminal all things are possible as he is stupid enough to try.

  6. The caramel corn looks so good! I love caramel corn.

Here is a recipe a made a few nights ago that I thought I’d share. https://afoodieinthesouth.wordpress.com/2022/09/07/one-pan-taco-pasta/

It’s my One Pan Taco recipe. It has ground beef, tomatoes and pasta shells that are simmered in a taco spiced tomato sauce with some melty cheese mixed in.. It’s all cooked and simmered in one pan so it’s easy and clean up is even easier. Hubby and I had a really hard time not eating it straight out of the pan, lol.

    • Thank you Linda, it was a long time ago. I look at some of my pictures from when I started blogging in 2017 and I want to hit the delete button. 🤣 I’m slowly trying to update things.

      • I have left my earliest posts on my blog Diane, only because I changed my style so much. I wrote a very long introductory post then had nothing to say. 🙂 A couple of posts were just quotes. Then I got this bright idea to have a one-word title and a one-paragraph (sometimes very long) post. Now some posts of mine are overly long – I admit that.
