    • This is one of those old fabulous recipes that seemed to disappear. I don’t know why because it is as easy as it is delicious. Thank you for sharing your memory with me. ❤️

  1. I never throw out bread. Like you I often turn into some form of dessert, or savoury bread pudding, apple betty, croutons, breadcrumbs…..you get the idea Diane

  2. Thanks for this. I love bread pudding, all kinds….and stratas, etc. My Mom used to make one for Christmas morning with green chilis, bread, cheese, etc. and serve homemade salsa to put on top.

    • You’re welcome! That sounds like one I would love, I don’t know what it is about green chili’s but I just love them. Thank you for sharing that Katelon!

  3. Been making it since my childhood next to mum. I made it first time in two years tonight for desert using 6 eggs and milk into custard with sugar and then over white bread cut of crusts for hens . Bake same as you say but I add marmalade in my recipe too. We never used raisins as it causes air bubbles . Mine bakes and vanishes before it even has time to cool .

  4. I LOVE bread pudding! My grandma used to make this pudding often when all of her (15) grandchildren visited her … such great memories! Thank you for reminding me of this pudding again – I’m certainly going to make this over the weekend!

  5. 💜 Totally Agreed EveryOne because it’s Crystal 🔮 Clear Clarity that “Stale Bread” has a Second Life; just like ALL Fresh Stuff after Their “Best Before” or “Use By” Date 📅 EveryBody

  6. Great use of leftover bread.

  7. This bread pudding is very popular in Virginia – I can’t have it because of dietary restrictions – but it was nice to see how this is made
