Oprah’s Ginger Peach Sorbet Recipe

I adapted Oprah’s original Ginger Peach Sorbet Recipe and it turned out wonderful. I am not a huge lover of a lot of ginger and I found it too strong for my liking. By leaving the ginger out it is a fabulous Peach Sorbet which is how I will be making it from now on.

In a small bowl combine the hot water, sugar, salt, lemon

juice and ginger (optional). Stir until sugar starts to dissolve.

Place the chopped frozen peaches in a bowl.

Pour the water mixture into the peaches and toss.

Pour the peach mixture into a blender and mix

until smooth and creamy. I could have eaten it just

like this. Since the peaches were still mostly frozen it was

like sorbet even without putting it in the ice cream maker.

Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker, following

the ice cream maker directions, then serve.

You can leave out the ginger and make Peach Sorbet instead if you are not crazy about the ginger like me.

    • It was strange because all you tasted was the peaches then once you swallowed it was a ginger after taste, so strange. Great without the ginger though. I like ginger with things like chicken but not this! Have a great week Sheree!

  1. That looks perfect for the summer! It’s gonna be peach season in our province too. A wonderful time to make the sorbet!

    • I knew somebody had too. I like ginger with chicken but I just didn’t care for it with the peaches. For me it had an aftertaste but I really loved the sorbet without the ginger. I bet you would love this recipe Dorothy.

    • It is amazing without the ginger Michelle. When I blended my peaches they were still pretty frozen and I could have eaten it right out of the blender. It didn’t seem to change much by using the ice cream maker but it sure was good! Thanks ❤️

  2. Sounds delicious and fancy. My mom squashed Ginger Snaps and put them in peach halves and put them in the oven. Then a little whipping cream with nutmeg sprinkled on top. I should have appreciated those desserts then as much as I do now.
