Back To The Basics
Look what was delivered to my house Tuesday! Nothing fancy, no glass to break, no glass to scratch, I can go back to canning food and the oven is self cleaning. Sometimes simple is the best! Check out how clean it looks because it wonβt stay that way. For those of you wondering why I bought this new stove check out my original post here.

Yaayy!! Looks good but, you know what they say about the proof of the pudding π I bet you are glad to have it all set-up π
I definitely am, I had them take the old one away and set up this one so easy peasy!
Haha, that’s great! I hope that you enjoy breaking it in over the weekend π
My husband and granddaughter are using it first! I had surgery and I am out of commission. I told them they better not get it dirty! Hahaha
Oh dear. I hope that your recovery is swift and total!! Haha, yes, well, as long as they know where the brillo pads are π
Stay safe and get well soon!
Thank you!
You are most welcome! π
Reblogged this on .
Thank you so much and have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you and you too
ππ I’m all excited for you! Yes, sometimes simple is the best!
But hey, “the oven is self cleaning” … that’s a bonus!! Looking forward to see what wonderful dishes you will make on (and in) your new stove!
Thank you!
Enjoy
Thanks Sheree, itβs nice to be back to normal.
Absolutely
Hooray!!!
Things are normal again…lol
So happy you are back to having a full sized range. Enjoy.
Thank you me too!!!!!
Self cleaning is a wonderful feature. Enjoy your new oven. I like that your back walls are brick and your counter is not granite, easy to clean, not high maintenance !
Thank you Katelon. I bought a special paint to cover up the brown brick years ago as it was so hard to keep clean. Now I can just wipe it off and itβs clean. Have a great weekend!
Yah, Diane! Less is more.π

Yes it is and lately I have been throwing away a lot of things…lol Have a great weekend Mitzy!
All shiny and new! Bet you couldn’t wait to break it in!
I am going to be the last one! I had surgery Monday and canβt do much. My husband and my 10 year old granddaughter have cooked on it and I havenβt! Oh well itβs kind of nice having them cook for me for a change…lol
Oh, get well soon my friend and happy cooking!
Thank you Dorothy.
Absolutely beautiful!!AND…just in time for Mother’s Day!!!
Thank you and yes, now if I could get someone else to cook on it for Motherβs Day! ππ€£π
That’s great, so glad you’ve got your new oven. Enjoy! π
Thank you Paul now back to cooking more. Lol
Beautifully functional and I love your countertops and backsplash! C
Awe thank you Cheryl. I am looking forward to three years from now when I have enough saved to remodel the kitchen. I hate debt…lol
We used to have a glass top stove. Had all the bells and whistles, including a convection oven. Just after the warranty expired, we start having issues. Every repair was around $500. The 3rd time it needed repairing was around $700. We decided to go back to a simple stove.
Yes!!!! That is exactly why I told my husband in the long run it would be cheaper to just buy a simple new one. I hated the convection oven and never used it. Itβs funny because the expensive one took forever for the oven to preheat, this one doesnβt!
Nice ! I need a new stove and fridge but we are still on lockdown so I can’t go shopping!
I didnβt shop…lol I picked it out on line, ordered it, had the old one hauled out and the new one delivered on the same day. I think Iβm getting lazy…hahaha
I guess I could do that too! I hate shopping π
My wife used the convection oven, but I found it very confusing for cooking times. The convection part of the oven quit working. That wasn’t even one of the repairs mentioned. Definitely, simpler is better!
Oh my Diane! I missed the post when your stovetop broke. It was probably when I was out of town. I have the same stove you just got rid of. And I Hate It! It is so hard to clean. I loved the flat top range I had before I replaced it. That one was a very good range. The one have now is exactly like the one you put out to the curb. I keep waiting for something on it to break because it is such junk. It does have some nice features but that is all I can say. I hope your new stove works will for you. Please let us who maybe following in your steps know how you like your new one.
So far so good with the new stove. The oven doesnβt take as long to preheat either and the top wonβt crack! I am very happy I junked the other one.
What brand is it? How did you decide which kind of stove to get?
Itβs a GE brand. It is almost exactly like the one I had before the glass top so that is why I bought it, however, there were very few to pick from that werenβt glass tops! The only reason I had changed is because when the drip pans got dirty I couldnβt get them clean Now I will stock up on them! Hahaha
Yes. Cleaning the drip pans were always difficult. I would think that today they would be impossible. My sister covers her drip pans with aluminum foil. It doesn’t look the best but then I guess that’s no different than dirty ones you can clean. Right? Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. π
Enjoy! I look forward to seeing what you will make with that new oven!
Thanks Betty itβs been a long two weeks!
Congratulations. I have never been tempted to switch from a simple stove with gas burners and an electric oven.
Unfortunately I did it the hard (expensive) way! Some day I want to have a gas range. Thank you Peggy!
The elegance of simplicity. Never fails.
Most definitely Matt!
Congrats! I hope that you enjoy your new stove. It’s looks great! – Neek
Thank you Neek!
Great dinners to come!
With no worries…lol Thank you Nancy!
Love the stove. I am with you on back to basics. All the bells and whistles can just provide more things to breakdown.
Exactly and I never even used the convection oven the other one had. When I ordered that one you had to buy it with the convection oven, what a waste of money!
So glad it arrived. Love the white.
It matches my refrigerator and wonβt crack! Lol Thank you Christy!
Replaceable and just as good π
Thanks I agree it does the same thing as the other one.
Yay! Looks great!
Thanks Janet Iβm happy to be back in business!
Self-cleaning? That is brilliant!
The only kind I will own! My days scrubbing ovens are done with..lol
Good for you! LOL
The sky’s the limit now – after Mother’s Day is over! Happy Mother’s Day Diane!
Thank you my friend!
You are so welcome Diane!
Congratulations and I am with you! I cannot stand our glass top range! We are hoping to have gas installed for our kitchen someday and then we will get a gas range, otherwise I would get what you got. I miss that type of electric range!
There are so few to buy! Most everything electric is glass topped…ugh!
I’m glad you are happy with your new stove Diane. I saw up above that you had surgery, I hope it was nothing serious and that you are on the mend. Enjoy your new appliance.
I havenβt used my new stove much Carla, but so far I do like it. Yes I did have surgery and it will take about 8 weeks to recover fully. Iβm so worried about my yard going to pots but thereβs nothing I can do about it. Surgery was bad timing with spring and the busiest months of the year. I got as much done as I physically could before surgery so that helped. My husband will do what he can but he has enough to do with his own chores and heβs helping me so much inside. I canβt even do light housework for another week and I canβt lift over 10# for a while. Looking forward to feeling better and getting back to normal. Thanks so much Carla! β€οΈ
Glad you are recovering and have some help. It is hard to sit back when you want to get out and do things, but make sure you listen to your doctor and you will recover quicker.
It is easy to do right now with so much pain and then pain pills knock me out….lol
Yay!! I miss my stove like that.
Itβs crazy how this cheaper oneβs burners get hotter at a lower temperature and the oven heats up twice as fast. I love it!
Simple is best in so many areas, Diane! Canβt wait to see all you prepare in this!

So far I am loving it Donna. It is very basic, I even have to turn on/off the light in the oven. I have to increase the temperature and time by pushing the plus button and you know what, I donβt care. It has been baking and cooking on the burners perfectly. Now if I could figure out how to keep it looking like new!
Hehehe!! Truly, I prefer my appliances the least sophisticated, the better – itβs like less can go wrong!! And I find they tend to cook as well, if not better!
π§π»ββοΈβ€οΈπ
I agree! π
Happy cooking! π
Thanks!
wow. lovely.. white would be looking red in no time Diana!
enjoyβ£οΈ
Thanks so much Cindy!
It’s a beautiful new stove, the source of many good meals to come! π
It cooks perfectly too, how could I ask for more! Believe it or not, it is still spotless. It is almost like they made it so things donβt burn to it like they old days. No regrets buying this one. Thank you!!!
Good luck with your new range.
Thank you Diana I love everything about it except the sensors on the burners.
