Jalapeño Popper Wontons-Air Fryer Or Deep Fried

Oh my goodness! I air fried these Jalapeño Popper Wontons and I have added them to my list of my favorite Air Fryer recipes. You can use the same recipe and deep fry these, instead, if you don’t have an air fryer. They were completely crispy, the cream cheese filling was fabulous and they only took a few minutes to air fry. I used my recipe for regular Jalapeño Poppers but instead of filling the Jalapeño Peppers, I filled the wonton wrappers.

Lay 4 wonton wrappers on a sheet of waxed paper.

You might want to work with 2 at a time as they dry out

really fast. Make sure you seal the package of wrappers

ever time you take a few out so they don’t dry out.

Place about a tablespoon of the filling

in the center of each wonton wrapper.

Wet the edge of the wonton wrappers

with water and your finger.

Quickly fold the wrappers into a triangle,

removing the air, then press the edges together gently.

Preheat the air fryer (or oil) to 375 degrees.

Add 6 prepared wontons and cook for 4 minutes.

I did not turn them over,

Remove from the air fryer and serve.

If deep frying remove to a paper towel

covered plate then serve.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium jalapeño peppers diced small (membrane and seeds removed unless you want them hot)
  • 4 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 3 Tbsp. bacon cooked and diced small
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. dehydrated onion
  • 1 tsp. dried parsley
  • ¼ cup water, to seal wonton wrappers
  • 20-24 wonton wrappers

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl add the bacon, chopped jalapeno pepper, parsley, onion, salt and cream cheese. Mix well with the back of a spoon. Cover and refrigerate for at least one hour.
  2. Preheat air fryer (or oil if deep frying) to 375 degrees.
  3. Remove 4 wonton wrappers, close the package so the rest of them do not dry out. On a sheet of waxed paper, lay the 4 wonton wrappers flat.
  4. Working quickly, place 1 Tbsp. of cream cheese mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper.
  5. With water and your finger, wet all around the edges of each wonton wrapper. Fold the wonton wrapper over making a triangle and gently squeezing the edges together while removing as much air as you can.
  6. Place the wontons on another sheet of waxed paper and immediately spray both sides with cooking oil.
  7. Repeat steps 3 – 6 until all used up.
  8. Place wontons on the bottom of the air fryer (or in the hot oil if deep frying) so they are not touching. Air fry for 4 minutes without turning. (Deep fry until a golden brown then place on a paper towel lined plate).
  9. Serve immediately.

  1. Yummy! Thank you, Diane! Honestly, i should more read your postings dayover. Now i got hungry. Lol
I hope you had a wonderful weekend, and wish you a nice week! Michael

  2. I don’t think it would be possible to combine those ingredients and the result not be delicious. Add some crispness to it in your air fryer, and it sounds like perfection.

  3. A twist on my normal jalapeno poppers but they look and sound delicious…I keep looking at the air fryers and can’t decide but like the idea of less fat and still crispy 🙂
