Jalapeño Popper Wontons-Air Fryer Or Deep Fried
Oh my goodness! I air fried these Jalapeño Popper Wontons and I have added them to my list of my favorite Air Fryer recipes. You can use the same recipe and deep fry these, instead, if you don’t have an air fryer. They were completely crispy, the cream cheese filling was fabulous and they only took a few minutes to air fry. I used my recipe for regular Jalapeño Poppers but instead of filling the Jalapeño Peppers, I filled the wonton wrappers.
In a medium bowl add the bacon, jalapeño
peppers, parsley, onion, salt and cream cheese.
Mix well with the back of a spoon.
Cover and refrigerate for at least one hour.
Lay 4 wonton wrappers on a sheet of waxed paper.
You might want to work with 2 at a time as they dry out
really fast. Make sure you seal the package of wrappers
ever time you take a few out so they don’t dry out.
Place about a tablespoon of the filling
in the center of each wonton wrapper.
Wet the edge of the wonton wrappers
with water and your finger.
Quickly fold the wrappers into a triangle,
removing the air, then press the edges together gently.
Place them on another sheet of waxed
paper and spray both sides with cooking oil.
Preheat the air fryer (or oil) to 375 degrees.
Add 6 prepared wontons and cook for 4 minutes.
I did not turn them over,
Remove from the air fryer and serve.
If deep frying remove to a paper towel
covered plate then serve.

Ingredients
- 2 medium jalapeño peppers diced small (membrane and seeds removed unless you want them hot)
- 4 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 3 Tbsp. bacon cooked and diced small
- ¼ tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. dehydrated onion
- 1 tsp. dried parsley
- ¼ cup water, to seal wonton wrappers
- 20-24 wonton wrappers
Directions
- In a medium bowl add the bacon, chopped jalapeno pepper, parsley, onion, salt and cream cheese. Mix well with the back of a spoon. Cover and refrigerate for at least one hour.
- Preheat air fryer (or oil if deep frying) to 375 degrees.
- Remove 4 wonton wrappers, close the package so the rest of them do not dry out. On a sheet of waxed paper, lay the 4 wonton wrappers flat.
- Working quickly, place 1 Tbsp. of cream cheese mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper.
- With water and your finger, wet all around the edges of each wonton wrapper. Fold the wonton wrapper over making a triangle and gently squeezing the edges together while removing as much air as you can.
- Place the wontons on another sheet of waxed paper and immediately spray both sides with cooking oil.
- Repeat steps 3 – 6 until all used up.
- Place wontons on the bottom of the air fryer (or in the hot oil if deep frying) so they are not touching. Air fry for 4 minutes without turning. (Deep fry until a golden brown then place on a paper towel lined plate).
- Serve immediately.

Looks so yummy!😋
They tasted amazing, thanks so much!
Oh my, these look like they could become addictive.
Haha they definitely were but sharing them between four of us….well I should have made a double batch!
Love the addition of the jalapeño in this! My family would adore this!
We absolutely loved them. Adding the chopped jalapeños made it! Thank you ❤️
A popper and a Rangoon had a baby!
Hahahaha Good one Dorothy!
YUM!! 😀
They turned out SO good. Thank you so much!
Nice. 👍
Thank you!
I don’t think it would be possible to combine those ingredients and the result not be delicious. Add some crispness to it in your air fryer, and it sounds like perfection.
Thanks and the entire wonton was crispy in the air fryer. It was a huge success and I can’t wait to make them again. I hope you had a great weekend!
Hmmm. I haven’t seen numbers on my bathroom scale in a long time.
Hahaha but you have a smile on your face!
Looks delicious! A blend of different cuisine with a spicy kick!
I am such a sucker for regular jalapeño poppers but this was a win win! Thank you for your nice comment!
A twist on my normal jalapeno poppers but they look and sound delicious…I keep looking at the air fryers and can’t decide but like the idea of less fat and still crispy 🙂
I don’t like to deep fry food. Not just because it’s not healthy but I seriously hate the greasy mess. If I do fry it is just a little oil in a skillet. Deep frying is out now that I have the air fryer.
I know the feeling its awful I do my jalapeno poppers in the oven but those looked easy to make and delicious. Thank you for sharing the recipe ::)
You’re very welcome!
Diane, you will be the reason why I will invest in an air fryer 😁. These look so yummy and I totally like the idea of no oil (no mess) 👍🏻👍🏻.
Oh me too! I hate the mess of deep frying. What’s crazy is even without all that oil the air fryer food tastes amazing.
I never thought I would love it like I do.
Now that is what I call a tasty treat!
They really were Karen. Thank you!!!
I love jalapeño poppers so much that I will eat a plate for lunch. But this was a whole new ball game and amazing! Now I will have to decided which one to have for lunch. We will definitely be planting extra jalapeños in the garden this year now. Lol
These look delicious !
Thank you we really loved them.
Yes! Get in my belly! My partner John actually makes chili relleno poppers a similar way, I’ll have to show him this recipe!
If he makes them let me know how you two like them.
Never had the nerve to try jalapenos… Maybe now I will! These look like a delicious snack/appetizer! 😛☺
The first time you do remove the seeds and membrane. Use gloves as the oil stays on your fingers. Seriously, prepared this way they weren’t hot at all.
Ahh, ok thanks! Btw, if you haven’t noticed, I changed my user finally. But anyway, have a great rest of the week!
I did notice thanks for telling me though!
No problem. I don’t really know why I bothered to say that… I woke up early and wasn’t thinking straight! Lol!
Sounds like this air fryer doesn’t gather dust. 🙂
Hahaha not in my house! Had wings in it last night.
How on earth did I miss this post?!
Hahaha it was my first time trying this and it won’t be my last!
Awesome!
