Hot SPAM and Cheese Sandwich
Yes I did, I made a Hot SPAM & Cheese Sandwich! After making all that food for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day this is a great way to fix a quick and easy sandwich. To all you Spam haters out there, this was delicious!

I wish I had tried it sooner! How do you eat it? I need ideas other than my sandwich.
We had Span fritters at school which, to tell you the truth, were pretty disgusting, although made with a light batter and crisped up properly, would actually be very nice. Spam is for camping and messing about in boats! I use it in the same way as corned beef – in a hash with potatoes, onions and lots of brown sauce on the side, or slices browned on both sides as part of a breakfast or brunch. You can, of course, just slice it up and put in an ordinary sandwich, with mustard mayo and sliced tomatoes.
I am hearing a lot of people love it with potatoes, onions and green peppers. Thanks for the ideas so I can try it more ways.
It reminds me of our bully beef (or corned beef), but in ours is beef and I think in SPAM is pork …? Never tried (or heard of) SPAM, but I do love the bully beef version … on a late Sunday evening, my husband will usually spent a couple of minutes in the kitchen preparing a quick meal out of bully beef, fried onions, tomatoes and boiled potatoes. Maybe we should try your recipe as well – it looks delicious 😋
You could use Spam and make it the same way as your bully beef meal! I love, love love corned beef. Thank you!

I was shocked at all the different flavors of Spam there is now. It used to be just one kind.

We go through a can of Spam a week. It’s delicious! Fried spam served on hot rice and sprinkled with Japanese sushi spices is the best!
Have you ever tried Spam misubi (aka spam sushi)? You should try it. Easy to make and mind blowingly good!

Spam has gotten an undeserved bad rap. (Even from me at one time.) It is ham, folks! Don’t eat it for every meal, but it is great to have on hand for a quick meal. Good post, Diane!

I first did a variation in a sandwich toaster in the early 1980s. Now I’m craving one and don’t have any Spam.

My Dad used to make those for us, I just couldnt do it lmao, but a co worker of mine loves the stuff, so for Christmas I bought him a can and wrapped it up lol

I grew up eating spam. My dad would fry it up in a pan and we’d eat it for breakfast, but I’ve never had it like this. It looks delicious.

I remember you said your husband liked Spam – I always liked it and now you can buy the single packages. When I worked at the diner back in the late 70s, one of our most-popular items was a grilled ham and cheese sandwich.
I didn’t know they sell single packs. He said they have many flavors too.
I got some of the individuals to make a few sandwiches so I did not have to open a tin. I’ve only tried the original and didn’t know they had different flavors!
That’s all I had too.

Also, yesterday at the Dollar Store, I found a Food Magazine for $1.00 featuring several ways to use ground beef (I will substitute ground turkey). One I want to try this weekend is stuff shells with a ground beef mixture and a light sauce. Then you bake it, looks very tasty.😊👣
