Christmas M & M Cookies
It’s time to make the cookies! This is the first of about 15 of my favorite Christmas cookie recipes for all of my new followers and those that didn’t get a chance to print off a recipe you may have wanted to try last year.
I came up with this M & M Cookie recipe many, many years ago. The cookies come out of the oven perfect every time. I bake them on parchment paper which keeps them from spreading out too thin. I like to use the red and green M & M’s because these cookies are part of my Christmas cookie tradition. There is nothing fancy about these cookies, they are just a delicious homemade M & M Cookie and a huge hit in our house.

Thank you Mitzy.
they are perfect for Christmas! yummy!
Thanks!
We made these in my family when I was growing up in the 70s when the only M&Ms were the mixed colors. We’d pick out the red and green ones and put them more prominently on the top and bury the brown and yellow ones inside the dough. When they pulled the red M&Ms in the late 70s because of a Red dye #2 scare, we were devasted. It would take 11 years for Mars to reintroduce the red and create the red and green only bag. That was really tough on us kids! So everyone be grateful for the red and green only M&Ms!
How interesting I remember the dye scare but not them pulling the red ones for that long. Back then all I cared about was eating them….lol
Mega tradition for your grandkids!
Yes their mom started this tradition. They have stayed with us every weekend for years and Elfie always followed them here on the weekends. Now he’s here to stay until the 24th. They keep thinking they see him moving, it’s so much fun.
They look so perfect will check out the recipe!
You are so kind, thank you!
I bet these are delicious!

They really are but then I never had anything bad with M & M’s…lol Thank you!
yumm and i wrote about cookies for tomorrow – i look forward to your cookie recipe series !
I have so much I want to post before Christmas I am going to have to post every day, and two posts on Elfie days…lol
Good for us!)
Yummy and festive-looking Diane. What kind of cookies do you leave out for Santa? Better stock up on some carrots for the reindeer to leave by the cookies. 🙂
I make about 15 kinds of cookies and always let the kids pick the cookies for Santa. Usually they leave the cut out cookies that they decorated.
That’s nice too Diane. I am glad you still do that for the grandkids … I think today’s kids are growing up too fast and are all about phones and computers and don’t experience the simple joys like we did. I’m glad you are doing those little things for them.
This will be fun to make with T!
Most definitely!!! I never put all of the M & M’s in the cookies so there are some to eat while we wait for the cookies to bake.
These look too darn tasty… thanks for sharing your recipe with us!
Hubby has a weakness for M&M cookies and these look delicious.
They freeze really well Christy. That’s my form of portion control. Yep run out to the garage every night for our cookie fix! 🤣😂
Oh that’s so good to know because we’d probably eat them in a day lol. Oh yes, I’d be the guilty one of running to the freezer also. 🤣
Thanks for the tip re: parchment paper. I’ll try it next time! 🙂
Yes it really helps. You’re very welcome.
Wow– so festive, I tried these for the 4th of july– and they were so delicious I’m gonna recreate them next week 😃😃 Yours look awesome btw 💚❤️
Than you so much!!! 🎄🎅🏻⛄️
