Winter Wonderland Snowball Fight
We had two happy grandkids yesterday when they cancelled school after about 5” of snow.
This is the start of a fort that they decided was too much work to finish.
My cabana is getting it’s first dose of winter! I started to decorate it for Christmas. I ordered a light up star with nine strands of lights going from the star to the ground. Wouldn’t this make a great manager scene for Christmas, I could put a nativity scene inside it. I can’t wait to get power run to the cabana next year so I can light it up too.

wow so much snow already .It looks so beautiful out there , am sure the kids had fun!
Yes I hope this isn’t an indication of what is to come! Lol
What a glorious scene! Reminds me of my childhood in Toronto.
Thank you I love it here. The snow on the evergreens is always so beautiful. What great childhood memories!
So sweet of you madam. You are full of positivity. Thanks a lot .Take care🌹👍🙏
Thanks! ❤️
Beautiful snow…what fun your grands must have had playing in it.
It really was and they had a blast. Oh to be a kid again, we watched from the warm house…lol
I would have been inside too if I were in that situation. lol
This looks like SO much fun! Thanks for sharing this with us💜
They had a blast Jonetta, you’re welcome.
Yes! A live nativity! 😀
Are you crazy! Haha I will agree to a lit up nativity though and lights all around the wood.
Fantastic idea Diane
Thank you Sheree!
Reblogged this on Nelson MCBS.
That was so nice of you, thank you!
That sounds really nice! Are you in the northeast?
North central so we can get more due to lake affect.
Wow! Winter arrived early! We were surprised to see snow here in New England just before Halloween, so I wonder what the winter will bring all of us moving forward??! Enjoy! 🙂
We can’t complain here as the last 3 or 4 years have been so mild. It’s funny because now that I am retired it just doesn’t bother me. I try to avoid driving in it when I can. You really got hit with snow early!
Oh the joy of grandchildren, snow and Christmas, Diane! You’re a blessed gal! 🙏

I sure do know it! The excitement already just melts my heart. My 6 year old grandson is so excited and talks about Santa every day. We had the talk today to remind him the real reason we celebrate Christmas and that it wasn’t about the gifts. He must have forgot that part. Hahaha
You’re a terrific grandmother, Diane!
You are so sweet Mitzy, thank you!!!!
so beautiful!
Thank you it always seems more beautiful though the window where it’s warm..lol
How fun! Oh and you should have a Snow Party at the Cabana 🙂 It would be so cool decorated and lighted!
Getting workers to do work is so hard now with the pandemic. My cabana took 3 weeks longer to be made then they originally said. We have been hiring people to get things repaired around here and they are always at least a month behind. I decided to wait until next year to run electricity to it and I can’t wait to light it up! I do like your idea of a snow party though. A heater in the middle of the cabana and hot chocolate too! We have 2 1/2 acres so that could be quite a party…lol
Thank you for sharing my post! 💕
My grandkids had a snow day yesterday as well. My granddaughter loved it, I have a pic to post on Friday. I think your cabana would make an amazing manger scene. Looks beautiful, Diane.
I can’t wait to see your post Friday. Thanks so much Carla!
What fun for your grandkids, and so pretty too look at, from the window!
Yes it was pretty from the window. They wanted us to come out and NO WAY! With my luck I would fall in the snow and not be able to get up. Lol
Fun times in all that beautiful snow! Sweet memories!
Yes this is a year they will definitely remember with us. They are so excited for Christmas and yesterday Elfie showed up, (The Elf On The Shelf Elf).
How fun for your grandkids to have a snow day and for you to enjoy it with them. Having all that space to run around is awesome. And the cabana looks very lovely with the snow around it!
Thanks so much!!!
such a special grandma and grandpa.. fun for all of you and memories made with so much fun and love! ❤️👏👏 👏 Cindy
You are so sweet Cindy, thank you! It is so much fun being a grandparent only right now I can’t spoil them and send them home.🤣
Oh of course! You are so welcome! awwww how fun.. I have to settle being a catma for now. ❤️lol
They are part of our family too and they don’t talk back! 😂
🤣🤣🤣
The cabana looks so big at a distance! The kids look so happy playing in the snow and enjoying their snow day. I heard on the news today that Campbell’s Soup is launching a campaign to “Save the Snowday” … sounds fun. Will send you the link in another comment in case the link goes to SPAM.
The cabana IS that big, it is 12’ by 20’ and yes the kids had a blast.
Awesome I can’t wait to see what the campaign is, Campbells does some cute things. I think I should buy stock from them by all the cream soups I buy for cooking.😂
Yes, Campbells does have cute campaigns. I always loved the Campbell kids and thought they were cute.
Ah, nothing like tomato soup and a grilled cheese after playing in the snow.

Oh yes we grew up eating both of those for supper many times when I was a kid. I will check out Campbells. Thanks Linda!
Me too – hope you can win something Diane … you were on that lucky streak last year!
Wow you do have snow ! Its raining here today and 5 Celsius.
I don’t mind the snow but after December 26th it can stop! Lol
I agree
Happy kids and a beautiful cabana in the snow!
Thank you!
Snow days were the best 🙂
Right but we had to walk to school and they didn’t cancel as much back in the day like they do now with all these buses.
I lived too far from school until junior high, so I took the bus. I don’t really remember how many snow days we had, just that they were always welcome 🙂
