Air Fryer Pot Holders
Do you remember making these Pot Holders when you were a child? I sure do and they were so much fun that I bought the loom kit for my granddaughter a few years ago. I was excited when I figured out that these Pot Holders that my granddaughter made for me, were perfect for my Ninja Foodi air fryer basket.
I have cherished these pot holders she made for me, but they are too small for the large baking dishes I cook with so I have only used them as a hot pad for under my pots and pans……until now!
My regular Pot Holders are so large that they fall into the cooked food in the Air Fryer basket when I take the basket out of the unit. Not only is that unsanitary but I have to wash my Pot Holders every time too.
I realize most Air Fryers have a handle to remove the pan, but on my Ninja Foodi that’s not the case. They sell silicone Pot Holders for this reason and cost around $10.00 and the price of mine……priceless!
So put your kids or grandchildren to work with a fun day of making these Pot Holders to give to you or as Christmas gifts. Nothing says love better than handmade!

Wow this is nice
Thanks! 💕
Thank you!
Omg I made so many of those…
Still in style and going strong!
I just recently bought a loom, and I have made two potholders so far!
Aren’t they fun!!!
so cute!!
Thanks fun to make too.💕
So true Diane
Thanks!
I remember!
Weren’t they fun and still are…lol
yes!
I remember making those as well. I think my mom still had hers. What a great cherished gift from your grandkids .
They really are a great gift. It’s funny because unless you touch them on a burner, they last forever!
What a wonderful gift! You must be very proud of your thoughtful grandkids. Yes, handmade is better and more fun! Thanks for sharing – Neek
Thank you Neek! Anything to keep them off the electronics…lol
Lol!
Those handmade potholders bring back lots of memories! I’d forgotten how tiny they were, though! It looks like they make the materials in brighter colors now than they did way back when. It’s great you’ve found a perfect use for them.
Yes Janet they have much brighter colors now. I loved that my granddaughter has fun making these. Heck, I still like making them too. Lol
I use Harrisville loom and loops. They make a 10” loom. I have made these for my children and grandchildren.
10” is so much better for regular cooking. I don’t ever remember these being so small but they are perfect for my air fryer.
I LOVE DIY projects that are practical, memorable, and doable for kids! Thanks for the stroll down memory lane and idea for modern cooking.

You’re welcome Melanie! Thank you for your nice comment!🌸
Guess what showed up at our house this week? An air fryer! I guess it’s time to start making those memories and pot holders.
Awesome!!!! I will be posting how to cook brats or Italian sausage in it hopefully in a few days. Less than 15 minutes to cook them!
What a lovely homemade gift! 😁 It’s lovely to always have their memory while using your Foodie!
And I think you could get your grandkids to start a little Etsy business with their beautiful creations. Just saying! 😉
Hahaha great idea but I don’t need anything else to do! AT 6 & 9 years old it would be all me working the computer. Maybe in a few years when they pass what I know on the computer they can do it themselves!
Nice protection.
Yes they are the perfect size.
I loved making those when I was a kid! I bought my daughter a loom kit a few years ago and she enjoyed it, too. Such fun memories!
I bet I made a hundred when I was a kid. I did them year after year. It’s funny though, I don’t remember them being so small.
Very nice 😀😀😀
Thank you Shaheen I will tell her.
Love your potholders. Harrisville Designs in New Hampshire sells loops in all sorts of colors and even has a pro size for a larger loom. They have a lot of history too. If you have time check out their story https://harrisville.com/pages/our-story
Thank you SO much Ruth! I saved the link as I have been wanting to get a loom. I did weaving decades ago and find it so therapeutic!
They are welcome gifts, too. I use 4 straight knitting needles at the end, to take it off the loom and finish it.
What a great idea I have lots of knitting needles now I have a reason to use them! 🤣😂🤣
I remember those potholders Diane– the kit had a loom and fabric loops. I made pot holders too, but what happened to them?
They are so small I think our parents put them in a drawer and then months later they magically disappeared…lol They still sell them but much brighter colors.
Probably neon now – hope your party went went well. I thought of you yesterday and hoped you did not get the humdinger storm we did!
No luckily the weather cooperated for the party. Thanks Linda!
That’s great – I thought of you when I heard the weather forecast here. You lucked out Diane!
Beautiful potholders. 💙
Awww thank you I will tell her. 💕
My sisters would make them all the time. Somehow thought they all seemed to disappear suddenly.
Hahahaha mine did too that I made for my mom but it just gave me an excuse to make more!
Oh my…those little nylon pieces seem to have made every move we’ve made since then! Yes priceless!
Brings back a lot of memories!
I totally remember making those potholders – how awesome – what a flashback!
Yes but look at the bright colors they sell now. Back in the day they didn’t look like this, we were deprived! Lol
Great idea. I too have this potholder kit and had my grandson make some for gifts. I will make a couple for myself. Thanks for the tip.😊👣
You’re very welcome! They are the perfect size.
😇👣
They are gorgeous!
Awww thank you Jo she did a nice job. I love the colors they have now compared to when I was a kid.
Sweet gift (and pretty too) 🙂
They really are and my granddaughter was so excited to make them. Thank you! ❤️
I hope she keeps crafting 🙂
She has a bedroom full of craft supplies. Her mom bought her a tall plastic cart with drawers to keep most of it in. She is always making something. Thanks!
Oh, it seems everyone remembers making them. Me too! So much fun and such a feeling of accomplishment. I remember my daughter making them too. I’m glad you found a good use for them.
I actually had the silicone store bought ones on my Christmas list. After using these loomed potholders I removed the silicone ones from my list….hopefully before anyone bought them! These are perfect and better than any store bought!
Nice story about the potholders! Loved it.
Glad you did! Thank you! ❤️
I so remember this! We made these pot holders by using a loom (I think that’s what you call them)! You brought back some memories, Diane! Thank you so much! 🙂
You’re welcome Cherie! I too made many of these and yes, it is called a loom.
