Air Fryer Chicken Thighs
WOW did these bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs turn out perfect in the Air Fryer! I can’t believe how simple it is to make them this way. The skin was crispy and the meat was so moist! My chicken thighs were ready in about 30 minutes.
Ingredients – Use whatever seasoning
is your favorite like herbs, salt or
pepper. I used Adobo seasoning.
Pat the chicken thighs dry with a paper
towel. Brush the thighs with olive oil.
Sprinkle both sides with seasoning.
Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees.
Spray cooking oil on the hot pan.
Place the thighs into the hot pan
in a single layer, skin side down.
Cook for 20 minutes.
Turn the thighs over, skin side up.
Cook another 5 – 10 minutes or until
each piece is at least 165 degrees. I
removed three pieces and cooked the
other 2 pieces another 2 minutes to get
them done. Keep an eye on the internal
temperature so they don’t get over cooked.

Ingredients
- 4 – 5 chicken thighs (bone-in, skin-on)
- Your favorite seasonings such as herbs, salt, pepper etc.
- olive oil
Directions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees.
- Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towel.
- Brush the thighs with olive oil.
- Lay them skin side down on a plate and season the bottom of each thigh. Turn the thigh over, skin side up, and season that side too.
- Spray the tray of the air fryer with cooking oil.
- Place the thighs, skin side down, onto the hot tray in a single flat layer.
- Cook for 20 minutes. Turn the thighs over, skin side up.
- Cook another 5 – 10 minutes or until each piece is at least 165 degrees in the middle. I checked mine at 25 minutes and all but 2 were done. I left the larger pieces in the fryer for 2 more minutes. Watch them carefully so you don’t overcook them then serve immediately.
I love it. give me to eat…..
I will send it tomorrow…lol Thank you Ullas!
Happy to get..
Simple but look super yummy !
Thank you it was better than any fried (greasy) chicken I have ever had.
Wow, that’s even better!
This recipe looks fast and easy. Thank you for sharing.
You’re welcome!
The only problem I have with an air fryer is that you can only fit a few chicken inside it. For a family of five who likes to keep extra chicken in the refrigerator for the kids, this could stress me out so I throw all in the oven. But air fryer does make good chicken.
Oh I bet! It would stress me out too. It would take an hour to cook 2 batches so you might as well use the oven or fry them. I did get 5 thighs in mine though.
Can‘t agree more. I love my air fryer.
Made tandoori chicken thighs that were moist inside and crispy outside. I usually avoid them, even at my favorite Indian restaurant, because they are tough and dry.
I’ve never made or tasted tandoori chicken. I see recipes posted all the time. I am going to have to try it. Thanks!
We have an Air Fryer and LOVE IT too. It cooks so fast it is amazing. We also have an Insta-Pot which we have used for pressure canning small batches of garden foods as well as crockpot style cooking. We tried a beef roast in the Air Fryer and WOW – we like our beef med-rare to rare and it cooked it perfect, juicy, and really tender – yum! Your chicken looks perfect!
What temperature and about how long did the roast take? I would love to try it.
Will have to ck the book on temp but it only took about 30 min.
Thank you!
We’ve been discussing getting an air fryer
My husband and I were just saying how it doesn’t save much time and it still has to be cleaned up however……because of the taste of the food and how much healthier the food is that it is completely worth it!
We were thinking the same thing. With my Fibromyalgia I have to be very careful not to eat too unhealthy becuae it aggravates my symptoms.
After you cook them you could even take the skin off to make them healthier but that was best part! lol
Oh yes definitely the best part.
Beautifully illustrated. And sounds delicious!
Thank you!!!!
I told my sister we need to get one of these!
I am liking it more and more!!!! Nothing has turned out bad so far.
Looks delicious 😋
Thank you they tasted amazing!!
I have no doubt 😀
Well you are the Queen of Gadgets Diane and look what you create with them!ll you are the Queen of Gadgets Diane and look what you create with them!
See you do like me…lol Thanks Linda!

If I ever downsize I will be in trouble! lol
If you keep on going you’ll need a house for storage and one to live in … unless you cleared out lots of room from the Beanie Babies you donated.
I do have a 40′ x 60′ pole barn but it’s not heated…lol
Diane – I went on your actual site as I could not post a comment (it kept getting rejected), so that is why you’ll get duplicate comments.
And here I thought it was because you liked me! 😂🤣😂🤣😂
I do!!
All of these new appliances intrigue me, particularly this one because I confess that I love many fried foods. But the idea of having yet another appliance to find a home for keeps me from buying one.
They make a Ninja that does it all. I think it is like 4 gadgets in one like a pressure cooker, air fryer etc. Of course now that I have one of them all they come out with this! 😂🤣😂
Haha! That’s how it works!
Hi Diane
Mmmmmm
Your chick thighs came out great
This is a staple in our house – the skin gets so crispy and like you said – the meat is moist
– and we sometimes add chili powder – well most of the time we do – with a good sea salt and dash of pepper
Happy eating 😊
I swear if I had known how delicious the wings and thighs are I would have bought an air fryer a long time ago! I am so glad you loved them and thank you for telling me❣
Cheers to the air fryer !! Mmmmm and mmmm
If I’m ever in your area, I’m going to just show up at your house for dinner, unannounced. Just thought you should know.
I would be thrilled!!!
Wow! We just got an air fryer! I’ve got to try this!
You will want it over and over again….just warning you! 😂🤣😂
I like using the NuWave for chicken. I normally use BBQ sauce or sprinkle it with salt, pepper, and curry powder.
Isn’t it nice we have so many choices to cook? I bet that tastes wonderful!!!!
Curry powder is the spice of the gods. LOL! The house smells great after cooing with it, too.
Thank you so much and I’m glad you loved this as much as we do. ❤️
