Ramen Noodles With Homemade Sauce

A recipe that is simple and quick using Ramen Noodles that are tossed with a very easy three ingredient homemade sauce. Any cooked vegetables and cooked meat that you may have leftover from another meal can be added as well. The sauce is also great drizzled over chicken or rice.

Ingredients

You can also add 1 cup of your

favorite cooked vegetables along

with chicken, beef or whatever you

want to add for even more flavor.

Boil 4 cups of water in a medium saucepan.

Add the noodles from 2 packs of

Ramen Noodles, discard the packets

or use them for something else.

Using a fork separate the noodles as they

start to cook. Cook until your desired

tenderness, usually 3 – 5 minutes.

Drain well.

Pour noodles back into the pan,

cover to keep warm.

In a small saucepan add the soy sauce,

sesame oil and cornstarch.

Whisk until the cornstarch is dissolved.

Cook over medium heat, stirring

frequently, until thick and bubbly.

Pour the sauce over the noodles.

Add any extra’s like cooked vegetables

or cooked meat. Toss gently but well

so the sauce coats everything.

Ingredients

  • 2 packs Ramen noodles, discard the flavor packets or save for another use
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/3 cup plus 2 Tbsp. reduced sodium soy sauce
  • 3 Tbsp. sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 cup cooked and warm vegetables, optional
  • 1 cup cooked and warm meat like chicken or beef, optional

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan, boil the water over medium heat.
  2. Add the 2 packs of Ramen Noodles. Turn to a simmer and once the noodles start to soften, use a fork to separate them. Cook to your desired tenderness, usually 3 – 5 minutes then drain.
  3. Return the noodles to the pan and cover to keep warm.
  4. In a small saucepan add the soy sauce, sesame oil and cornstarch. Whisk to dissolve the cornstarch.
  5. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until thick and bubbly.
  6. Pour over the noodles and add the optional cooked vegetables and cooked meat. Toss well to combine the sauce. Serve immediately.

  1. Ahh – Ramen Noodles! They have been one of our best “go-to” meals when we don’t know what we are hungry for, since the1980’s. Our mom couldn’t cook but she loved her microwave and Ramen noodles. One Christmas my older sister Mic actually got her a book called 1001 Ramen Noodle recipes and she went and did every single one of them – LOL. Ahh, the memories!! Thanx Diane.
