Pizza Burgers
Toasted buns topped with ground beef, pizza sauce, cheese and any of your favorite pizza toppings like mushrooms, onions, bacon etc. This was one of the first meals I made when I left my parents house and I am still making it 40 years later. It is a very kid friendly meal because you can put only the items they like on individual pizza burgers. I even ask them what kind of cheese they want which keeps everyone happy!
Ingredient – Plus any of
your favorite toppings.
Cover a large cookie sheet with foil.
Place the bun halves on the foil and
broil on the second oven rack from
the top until toasted. Turn them
over and toast the other side.
In a large skillet, cook ground beef
over medium heat until no pink
remains, drain grease.
Add the pizza sauce, stir to
combine and simmer until thick.
Using a spoon place the mixture onto
the toasted bun halves.
Top with your favorite cheese.
Place the pan under the broiler on the
2nd rack from the top and watching
carefully, broil until a golden
brown then serve.

Of all the food blogs I have read, yours out to be the best not for the niceness in the pictures and delicacy in recipes. I love the pictures as they are very clear thus, making me salivate. Ooooh! How I wish I could access them right away.

I love pizza and burgers 😍😍😍
Me too they are not only delicious but an easy and quick meal everyone seems to love.
Something I love about your recipes is you take pretty well known commonly beloved foods and recreate them into something unique and fun!! I always think “How is this not a common thing?!”. I just love this idea! I bet I could substitute the burger meat with some vegan meat and keep the regular around for the husband. Thanks for sharing, Diane! Hope you are well.
Awwwww thank you Mackenzie! Absolutely you can use a vegan meat, sausage, chicken or even turkey!
This was a go-to meal in our house when I was growing up. Every Saturday during the late fall and winter, my mom made these for dinner. I loved these!!! We lost the recipe over the years and now I have it again. Thank you Diane!!
You are so welcome John!!!
My husband used to make something similar when we first got married. The toasted buns would make them so much better! I’ll have to make these.
Yes they get too soggy if they aren’t toasted first. I could eat these every week!
Those look delicious – they sure do look like pizzas with all the oozing cheese and tomato sauce.
Thanks Linda this is one we have eaten for a long time!
Simple recipes are the best. I love recipes like this that become family classics.
So true Sheryl!!!!

Yum, these actually remind me of school. Best day of the week!
Yes I loved them in school too. That’s where I came up with the idea 40 years ago! Happy Valentine’s Day Jody!
Great idea for kids or an informal get-together – and so easy. Thanks, Diane!
You’re so welcome!!!
Pizza burgers, what a cracking idea.
Definitely one for my “single man’s cooking” collection. I’d like to try it with my own home-made pizza sauce, it would be a good way to use up the leftover which I always seem to have.
Great idea! That’s the best part about these (other than the taste) is that you can make however many you want.
What a spiffingly good idea to do. Cant wait to try it. Bought an Italian pizza over and it works well. So can try your simple recipe today.
Enjoy Kevin we have been eating these for years!
Yummy
Thank you so much!
Oh, they look so good. I sure can use one.
So simple to make!!! Thank you!
Oh these bring back wonderful memories!
Oh yes they sure do. Fridays school lunch! lol
Lovely
Thank you so much!
You’ve got a new twist with this one!💦🐬💧
Thanks!
it should read Italian pizza oven not over but no white letter remain on old key board so must change it now. Pizza comes from the Arab Moors who created the cities of Venice and built Al Hambra Palace in Granada Spain in 11th century Pizza in Arab is suc avien meaning flat oven bottom. It was adopted by Italian traders in 15th century and the British in 1602 cooked it for troops fighting the Dutch wars. My oven is made of soap stone base and insulated heavy metal lid over the base with elements in that heat. Called Ferrari by Geno Venice made .can buy on internet for under 150 pounds .it really bakes and crusts home made or even bought pizza or home bake bread . Buns and bacon sandwhich goes well in it too.
Very interesting! Oh how I would love a pizza oven!
Pizza and burger together. Surely takes the cake for maximising the ‘fast food’ quotient 🙂
Thank you it is one of our favorites!
Thank you for sharing this information. It sounds delicious. Keep sharing such information. Pizza Party.

Oh yes, add some other stuff and the kids will love them. Another easy thing to make for one of those swim and dinner evenings in the summer.
You won’t believe how delicious these are. The kids will love them.❤️
you are a bleeping genius! Hi there. I am going around the neighborhood introducing myself. My name is Marc. My blog contains excerpts from my book The Driveway Rules. It contains memoirs about growing up with undiagnosed autism. I hope you stop by.
I look forward to it! I retired in August and was an Independent Provider for developmentally disabled adults. My main client has Autism and I still keep in contact with her and her mom. Thank you for checking out my blog.
I am vegan but for the meat eater this is a creatively awesome idea!
Thank you, could this be made with a substitutes? Maybe use lettuce in place of the bun and substitute vegan meat and cheese, just a thought. I need to learn more about vegan and plant based food. We are talking about trying it once a week to get started.
Absolutely, because there is a vegan pizza on the market I love called vegan harvest American Flatbread pizza.
It is delicious with vegan mozzarella cheeses.
There are vegan meat substitutes like seitan (made from wheat). I had a delicious seitan burger with mozzarella cheese made purely from cashews.
Your pizza burger is something I would love to try vegan-style❤
If you do let me know how they taste 💕
I will definitely let you know!⚘
I would love the lettuce along with a bun! 😻
That would be great for your family once a week to your liking- I hope everything turns out well 🌷⚘
It will be an experiment and I will have to search high and low for something good. We are meat eaters. Lol
