Cracker Barrel Hash Brown Casserole

Another delicious copy cat recipe and this time for Cracker Barrel Hash Brown Casserole. It is crazy how easy this was to prepare. Just mix everything together and bake it in the oven. Top it with cheese and oh so good!

Ingredients

Spray a 9″ x 13″ baking pan with cooking oil.

Dice the onion.

Place all of the ingredients into a large

bowl except only 1 cup of the cheese.

Reserve the other 1 cup for the

top after it bakes in the oven.

With a large spoon toss until combined.

Pour into the prepared pan.

Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for

45 minutes or until the cheese is melted and

the top is beginning to turn a golden color.

Remove from the oven and top with

the remaining 1 cup of cheese.

Place back into the oven until the

cheese melts, about 5 minutes. Place on

serving plates and serve immediately.

 

Cracker Barrel Hash Brown Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 (30 oz.) bag frozen hash browns, thawed
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
  • 1 (14.5 oz.) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided in half
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup sour cream

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Spray a 9″ x 13″ baking pan with cooking oil.
  3. In a large bowl combine 1 cup of the cheese (set aside the other 1 cup) and all of the other ingredients.
  4. Using a large spoon, toss well to combine then transfer to the prepared pan.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes or until the cheese melts and the top begins to turn golden brown.
  6. Sprinkle with the rest of the remaining cheese. Bake about 5 minutes more or until the cheese melts then serve.

My mom listened to Gloria Pitzer on the radio for years and she did a newsletter she would mail out.
