A delicious Amish Peaches & Cream Coffee Cake recipe that is similar to a cobbler. It has a cake bottom that is topped with peaches, cream cheese filling and sprinkled with a cinnamon sugar. Eating this warm from the oven was so delicious!

  1. This looks a lot like the Pennsylavia Dutch kuchens I used to eat when I was a kid. I don’t know if they used sour cream, but I imagine that adds a good flavor. Thanks for sharing this!

  2. Wonderful Coffee based recipe! Fit perfectly to Coffee Blog Tour I’ve joined with 7 other bloggers to celebrate coffee and share some Coffee Themed Giveaway! You would love it, Diane!

    • Thank you Joni I still have a freezer full myself. This was the first year freezing my peaches. I have canned them in the past. I don’t mind the freezer peaches for recipes like this but I don’t think I will like them for pies. They just got too mushy to use for a pie. I am disappointed but next year I will can them again. I’m sure I will find plenty of other things to bake with them.

      • I don’t usually like peach pie, not sure why but it’s not my favourite. I attended a Harvestfest Supper on Sat night, which I be blogging about eventually, and was very disappointed in the dessert. I had heard so much about this local Pie Lady. Well there wasn’t a speck of sugar in either the cherry or the apple. How can you make pie without sugar? And it’s too early for apples, so of course they were sour to start with. The tickets were $40 and I have to say I wasn’t overly impressed, but then maybe my expectations were too high. The main course was chicken (good) and pork loin (I’m not a big pork fan). This is the third year for this Harvest Moon event, and it is held outdoors, luckily the weather was good, even a bit too hot. The first year they had turkey and a beef dish. Not sure why they would serve two white meats? The rest of it was good, all locally sourced from the farmers market. I was so craving a piece of cherry pie that I stopped at a bakery yesterday and bought some homemade style cherry pie and it was tons better, the cherries were a bit sour and a bit sweet, just the right combination.

      • That is such a disappointment when you look forward to something and it is a flop. $40.00 was a bit expensive! The good thing is that it was sourced from the farmers market. Knowing it served a good cause helps to justify the cost and the quality of the food. I can’t imagine making a pie without sugar. That has to be illegal! I’m glad you found a cherry pie just the way you like it! I love anything sweet & sour too. I’m having such a sweet craving today and I don’t have anything baked!

      • That’s a good way to put it – it should be illegal. Maybe she made it the way she always did, but the apples are just starting and we had such a late spring, everything is behind by a few weeks. As a cute party favour each place setting held a candy apple, but even those were sour. It’s sad to say, but the presentation was better than the meal. Today I took my mom for seniors lunch at the same retirement home I blogged about in the Woodstock post, and we had a lovely roast beef dinner with mashed pototoes, gravy, with a fresh garden salad for starter, and apple pie for dessert, all for $10. We both remarked that it was better than Saturdays dinner. Of course the portions were smaller, for seniors. I could see the $40 ticket price if part of it was going to charity, but they had a list of corporate sponsors a mile long. Sometimes I think think places just charge what the market will bear – they sell out, so the next year the price goes up. I’ll be blogging about it next week, if I have time.

      • I know it seems a bit steep. I noticed that with theatre tickets lately – we have a local theatre here – I usually try and go to one show every summer – tickets used to be $41 last year, and now they are $48 and they still sell out as they have lots of bus tours in. A friend asked me if I wanted to go to a tea and talk – tickets are $48 – I said no, as tea with little sandwiches and deserts is not worth that kind of money, unless it was in a hotel in the middle of London England with the Queen!

    • This was so good! I had the first piece right out of the oven and OMG! I ate a piece cold and it was still really good. However, I microwaved the rest of the pieces as I ate them and they tasted just like they came from the oven. This one is a definite keeper for me!
