Seafood Bisque Soup
Seafood Bisque is one of my favorite soups. When my husband found this recipe in a book called “300 15-Minute Low-Carb Recipes” he wanted to give it a try. It is definitely a 15 minute soup worth trying, however, I will not use canned seafood the next time. This is just my personal preference as I have never like canned seafood. If you don’t mind canned seafood, make it just like the recipe says. If you are making a meal with shrimp, fish, lobster etc, make a little extra and put it aside and make this soup.
Ingredients
In a medium saucepan over low heat, heat
the Half-&-Half to just below a simmer.
Add the tomato paste.
Whisk until the tomato paste dissolves.
Add the shrimp, crab, dill and lemon juice.
Stir to combine then add
salt and pepper to taste.
Continue to cook a few
minutes until hot then serve.

- 1 can (4 oz) tiny shrimp (I prefer to use freshly cooked)
- 1 can (6 oz) flaked crab (I prefer to use freshly cooked)
- 1 tsp dried dill weed
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
Directions

- Add the seafood, dill and lemon. Sir to combine.
- Salt and pepper to taste.
- Continue to cook a few minutes just until hot then serve.

I’m with you on the fresh seafood! We are heading home the end of next week, so we’ll bring back 20 or 30 pounds of fresh shrimp. This looks yummy! You forgot to add a little Tobasco… Just sayin’ Hahahaha

Make it with fresh or frozen seafood. The recipe called for canned seafood and the canned was mushy and flavorless! I will be using fresh lobster next time and I can’t wait! It is definitely the quickest and simplest soup I have ever made.

Sounds great, I’ll try that. We can often get fresh crabmeat at the supermarket (if the restaurants don’t snatch it all for their crabmeat rolls).
It will be so good with fresh crabmeat Karin! I will never buy canned seafood again! It was mushy and had no flavor. I can’t wait to get some lobster and make this. Thank you!
Thank you for posting this. My Mom is a big fan of lobster bisque soup. She buys it from Publix and adds extra lobster tail meat. I told her if she was going to do all that, she may as well make her own. I know the store bought is filled with sodium. This will be healthier.
You’re welcome and yes it is definitely healthier. Tell her to use fresh or frozen lobster meat though, the canned stuff is mushy and doesn’t taste as good.
Love seafood bisque – used to go to a restaurant which name escapes me now as they closed years ago – they had the best lobster bisque – it was their specialty.

Yes no canned for me either! This was a recipe my husband asked for and he agreed, canned is awful!

What about frozen. That would be much better than canned. As you see, I really don’t like canned…lol
