    • Oh no doesn’t that always seem to happen? I have had 4-5 pairs of Oriole birds that have been eating grape jelly by the jar full! I sent my husband to buy jelly to restock my usual huge supply and the next day most of them left! Good thing it is canned….lol

      • I haven’t had salad in a while – when I had my canary I always had fresh Romaine or spinach in the house, though he was not too excited about the spinach. Does your mom still have her canary?

      • Yes it is a female so it doesn’t sing, only chirps. She’s happy with it. I know you are reluctant to buy the Romaine lettuce. That is all we buy but I wash each leaf with water before we eat it.

      • Glad your mom is enjoying her canary – even if it does not sing, they are wonderful companions, as are parakeets. I know I have to change my mindset about the lettuce to eat healthier. I don’t know if I’ll ever return to the bagged salads which I used to love – I think they were found to be the most problematic.
