Rub the top of the ribs with the dry ingredients.

If you have any left put it on the bottom of the ribs.

Place the ribs into the slow cooker leaning

them upright against the sides. Do not lay the

ribs flat and do not let them lay together

against each other. If I have trouble keeping

them upright and apart, I wad up a ball of foil

and place it between the ribs. Do not

add any liquid to the slow cooker.

Cook on low for 8 hours. You can eat them

like this or continue by following the

directions below to add BBQ Sauce.

  1. Diane!! Why must you always tease me with these outrageously delicious recipes? 😀 I’m coming to your house for dinner! Haha, just kidding of course!

I can taste that smoky BBQ flavor now….yum!

  2. Good timing. My wife used the falling fire in my charcoal grill – after I grilled chicken thighs for my lunches through the week – to cook up some country-style ribs. No dry rub. Just thorough marinating in Huy Fong’s Sriracha Sauce. Woo-hoo!

  3. Great timing. Yesterday, my wife used the falling fire in our charcoal grill – after I grilled a week’s worth of chicken thighs for all the ways I have them for lunch for a week – to tenderly cook some country-style ribs. Instead of a dry rub, she used our favorite Sriracha Sauce from Huy Fong to marinate the ribs for half-an-hour before placing them in the grill. Closing it up and forgetting about them until falling apart tender.

    • What time is dinner? lol Chicken thighs is my favorite part of the chicken as is Sriracha Sauce. I put Sriracha on my turkey tortillas and much more. I like the way you cook!

    • Thank you Linda! I love the Ninja slow cooker! Guess what I saw at one of our local parks while walking today? A tree with 2 birdhouses hanging from it and a memorial headstone under the tree! It was for an employee that had died last year but again, I thought of you…lol

      • I jotted the name of that slow cooker down when I first started following you Diane – you said it might be too large for me (since it is just me). Do you have to have special wiring for it? Maybe when I am retired and can be more creative with my meals. (I sure am not creative now – I just salivate at yours.) That’s nice what you saw at the park – the birdhouse at our park was the first I’ve ever seen here … I thought we were unique, I guess not. That’s a nice gesture isn’t it? I asked the City about the memorial trees – can you still buy them (I didn’t think so) and they said “no, no one ever takes care of them and the City doesn’t have time to either” … I wanted to ask how many trees there were and after her saying that, I figured I’ll just count them like I intended to in the first place. 🙂

      • No the Ninja doesn’t take any special wiring, just plug it in your outlet. I can understand why the city doesn’t allow it anymore. Trees can be a lot of work with leaves and all the limbs. My husband has been picking up all of our limbs with the grandkids while I did the flower beds.

      • Yes, I wasn’t surprised either, but I thought I would check and see … I would have included that in the post about the memorial trees that I’ll do after I count them. I’ll wait to do it after they leaf out – everything looks bare and ugly right now.

      • Thanks for the info – I thought maybe it was a heavy-duty cord or outlet – I don’t use the toaster oven anymore. Its cord wouldn’t reach the outlet, my mom had to use a heavy-duty extension. They said it was okay to do this, but the cord got too hot – didn’t feel comfortable with that.

  4. Oh my gosh i have a slow cooker and hardly use it! I’m just realizing that you can make practically anything and everything in there lol. These look pretty good!

  5. Great idea to put the sauce on after the ribs have cooked. That way, you don’t have to scrub BBQ sauce out of your slow cooker! Thanks for the tip! I love cooking pork in the slow cooker.
