Imitation Crab mixed with mayonnaise and celery has always been one of my favorite salads. A simple salad that makes a great meal or a side dish.

  1. Looking forward to making this one. Chicken salad is delicious, I would assume imitation crab salad would be as well. Thanks for the recipe.

    • Let me know what you think of it. It took me forever to figure out the right combination of ingredients. Every time I made it, it was just not perfect until now. Thanks Robin!

      • Yup, you’ll give people ideas for Friday meals. We always had meatless meals or fish during Lent and always on Good Friday. My mom used to make a tuna roll with Pillsbury crescent rolls – rolled them out altogether, stuffed it with tuna, cheese, celery – don’t remember what else, and baked it … wonderful. I ate 3/4s of it, my mom wasn’t a fish fan.

      • Good Friday was the only day we didn’t eat meat during Lent. Dad was a fisherman so we usually had perch. I bet the Tuna Roll was delicious! Gosh I wish I had known your mom. She sounds amazing!

      • Yes, my mom was really adamant about having fish on Good Friday for sure. I will look and see if she had that recipe in her binder if you’d like. Sometimes she just had it in her head. It was good and when it was just the 2 of us, she would have one small piece and I’d have the rest … sometimes cold the next day.

      • No thank you…lol Not crazy about fish since I got older. I think my parents made me eat too much as a kid. I do like perch but I have to smoother it in tartar sauce.

      • OK :). My father was German and he liked rollmops which were creamed herring and they were in a jar of this white sauce. That was really the only fish he liked – let’s just say my mom and I never fought him to share the jar.

      • I don’t think I’ve had smoked fish – is it the same as having blackened or seared fish? Now I have had that in a restaurant.

      • OK, wasn’t sure – nope, never had smoked fish then. I do like catfish and used to get it at some franchise restaurant I used to go to, maybe Chili’s or Applebee’s.
