Bacon Wrapped Asparagus
Asparagus wrapped up with Bacon in individual serving size portions. What an elegant and delicious way to present this side dish to your family and guests. A simple yet delicious side dish.
Ingredients
Break off the tough part of the
asparagus by holding each end and
bending the asparagus until it snaps.
Keep the stem end with the tip.
Discard the bottom stem.
Place the tip section into a colander and
thoroughly rinse with cold water.
Lay the rinsed asparagus onto
paper towels and pat dry.
Place the dry asparagus into a large bowl.
Drizzle olive oil over the asparagus.
Salt and pepper to your own taste.
Using your hands toss the asparagus so the oil,
salt and pepper gets onto all of the asparagus.
Take a serving size of asparagus
and 1-2 pieces of bacon and wrap
the bacon around the asparagus.
Try not to overlap the bacon except
at the start to hold it in place.
Place the wrapped bundles on a baking
sheet or on a slotted pan. Bake in a
preheated 400 degree oven for 30 minutes.
Turn the oven off and the broiler on.
Continue to broil until the bacon
turns a light brown then serve.

You actually break the asparagus correctly and don’t cut it… So strange to see anyone else do that! I like grilling these even better, but I never turn down asparagus especially wrapped in bacon! Outstanding!

Thank you! I grow asparagus and get so much of it in the spring. These were from the store and SO thin. I can’t wait for my own.

I have never been able to cook asparagus. Never. I’ll eat it at restaurants etc.
I think I just might try cooking it one more time using this recipe. 🙂

The secret is not to overcook it or it gets soggy. This recipe will help because it is inside the bacon so it will still have a slight firmness but is cooked.

This looks so yummy. I didn’t know that was the right way to cut asparagus. I will definitely try it myself next time I cook it.

I use asparagus for flower arrangements. But this is a great idea. I don’t know which type of asparagus is to be used.

I wish I knew what type this is. I honestly didn’t know there were other types. We only have one type at the grocery store and it is the same type in my garden. I have never heard of putting them in flower arrangements how fascinating!

A great addition to our Finger Food Friday’s. I sometimes grill asparagus but wrapped in bacon – now that’ll be really special.

This can be put on the grill as well.

I’ll bet the grandkids love this and hopefully they don’t unwrap the bacon and leave the asparagus, 🙂
