Cheeseburger Pie
If you love Cheeseburgers then try this delicious Cheeseburger Pie. I made mine in a cast iron pan but it is supposed to go into a 9” pie plate. I like using my cast iron pan because it goes from the burner to the oven which means less clean up!
Source: Debi Schull
Ingredients
In a frying pan over medium heat,
add the onion and ground beef.
Cook over medium heat until the
ground beef is cooked through
and the onion is tender, then drain
the grease. Stir in the salt, garlic
powder and Worcestershire sauce.
Spray a 9” pie plate with cooking
oil and pour the ground beef
mixture into it unless you want
to make it in a cast iron pan
like I did.
Sprinkle the ground beef
with the cheese.
In a small bowl whisk the
egg and milk together.
Add the Bisquick.
Whisk together and try to get
rid of almost all of the lumps.
Pour the milk mixture evenly
over the ground beef mixture.
Place the pie plate (or cast iron pan)
into a preheated 400 degree oven
for 25-30 minutes or until the top is
golden brown. I turned on the broiler
and finished browning it that way.
Remove from the oven and
sprinkle with more cheese.
Place the pie plate (or pan) back
into the oven until the cheese melts.
Let it sit in the pie plate or
pan for 5 minutes then cut
into wedges and serve.

You’re welcome Lilly! I thought it was great tasting when I made it but today I had leftovers for lunch. I drizzled Siracha sauce over the top and holy cow was that delicious!
Looks amazing! Do you think there is an alternative for ground beef?
Oh yes you can use ground chicken or ground turkey Jess. Than you!
Oh thanks! 🙂
This looks delicious! Can I swap beef for mutton or chicken?
Absolutely you can! It may be a bit dry compared to ground beef though. Maybe add a little butter or some type of fat but you don’t have to.
Thanks you🙂

I make something similar quite often! We love it with mustard, ketchup and homemade dill pickles on the side. Next time, I’m going to try it in the cast iron skillet. Thanks for a great idea!
Oh believe me, ketchup and mustard are used here too.I swear they put it on everything. Lol You’re very welcome.
The recipe looks delicious and something a family can enjoy together. Making it all in the cast iron pan makes it even better for a weekday family dinner. Thanks for the recipe Diane
Thank you so much Bernadette ❤️
That looks yummy, Diane. I have my mother’s cast iron skillet and I used to use it for so many dishes. We remodeled the kitchen in 2015 and decided to “upgrade” to a ceramic stovetop. I guess I should have done more research. I didn’t learn until it was too late that you can’t use cast iron (or a canner) on a ceramic stovetop. Fortunately, my canning days are over, but I miss using the cast iron skillet. I still make cornbread in it, since that only requires an oven.
Before I dropped a can on my new glass top and broke it, I used my cast iron pans. I made sure I didn’t move the pan so it didn’t slide and was very careful to set it down gently. Threw away my new glass top and went back to my old burner style, only now they put this sensor in the middle of the burner that automatically turns the heat off and on. It has messed up so many of my recipes. I’m hoping to remodel in a couple years and I will buy a gas stove!
