Blueberry Loaf Cake
My two garden blueberry bushes gave me an abundance of blueberries this year. I have a freezer full of gallon bags of them. I thought I would try a new blueberry recipe. Although this looks like bread, it is actually a loaf cake. What a nice touch it was adding the cinnamon sugar topping giving this delicious and moist Blueberry Loaf Cake an extra burst of flavor.

Well, “if” you like blueberry loaf cake…
Right Jim! Have a great day!
Looks like spring time on a plate!
Good one I wish it was spring! Thanks for your nice comment!
You and me both! And you’re welcome!
Now that looks really good.
And glad you blueberry bush gave you so many / I have not had success growing these little berries

Oh and the other day – a young lady was across from me and she had store bought blueberry muffins – all processed and guess what – no blueberries at all. It was a jelly like colored substance – just horrible
Isn’t it amazing that people actually buy that fake stuff when it is so easy to make your own. I have only had one year I didn’t get a huge crop of berries and that was because of a freeze. My bushes are very old and every year I think it will be the last but they just keep producing! Thank you Prior and have a great Sunday!
wow – you must have just the right soil and care and keep enjoying those blueberries
🙂
nice…vw
Thank you vw!
Good stuff….vw
Thank you!
how lucky you are to have this bounty- great idea to make this loaf
It is a labor of love. It is a constant fight with the birds and me…lol Thank you!
Looks yum.
Oh how wonderful… and made with your very own blueberries too!
Thank you! I baby my two blueberry bushes and have to fight off the birds but I do win in the end. They don’t like the aluminum pans I hang up. Silly birds get free seed from our feeder and then have the nerve to try to eat my blueberries…lol
Such nerve 😂😂
I’m glad you win though 😉
Could you use self rising flour?
Yes just leave out the baking powder and it should work fine. Thanks for your question Angel!
That loaf looks so beautiful I’m working up my courage to try it.
Thank you Angel! You can’t mess it up as long as you measure everything. Give it a try you won’t be sorry!
OMG…you took me to church with this loaf cake! It looks incredibly moist and delicious!
Thank you it is very moist and the touch of cinnamon/sugar on top makes it even better!
I love blueberries 🙂
Me too! Thanks Stuart and have a fantastic day!!!
Thank you! You too 🙂
I like the idea of a cinnamon topping. Thank you.
Thank you it was a nice taste.
I have a big stash of them in my freezer as well, it always makes me feel secure; I pick every year with my grandkids and they know that means pancakes, muffins, and smoothies all year. This loaf looks delicious!
Oh that is so funny! I made the grandkids a blueberry smoothie last week. They just make the best recipes! Thank you Dorothy!
Yum! That looks terrific, Diane, and I think blueberries are on sale at the store right now!
I can’t believe how much they charge for them. I know how fortunate I am to grow my own.
The blueberries and raspberries this year have been amazing (I don’t grow them, but you can always tell when it’s been a good season!). I have a huge container of fat, sweet blueberries waiting for something like this. Maybe I’ll give it a go this week!
If you put fresh blueberries in front of me, I can’t help but to eat them. I don’t recall ever baking with fresh blueberries, always frozen….lol Thank God I get an over abundance so I hurry up and put them in the freezer. My Granddaughter eats them frozen!
Heavenly! 💕 💕 💕
Thanks Bernice it is my favorite Blueberry Loaf Cake for sure!
Yum!
Thank you Robin!
This is one of my favorites! The topping, yum 💗
Thanks Lisa! Cinnamon and sugar make everything taste better!
This looks moist and tasty – my mom used to make blueberry loaf cake as well. She’d buy blueberries in the Summer when they were cheaper, wash them and put them on a cookie sheet to freeze. Then pack them away in containers. She’d make blueberry muffins in the dead of Winter.
That is exactly how I freeze my homegrown blueberries! I even made the grandkids a smoothie with them last weekend.
My mom did that a lot and made those blueberry muffins, loaf cakes and pancakes. I am probably the only person on earth who’s never had a smoothie … or avocado toast. There is a young woman and we follow each other … she is a foodie (more eating, than cooking, but her food she cooks always looks so good) … she often makes avocado toast – I told her the same thing, that I am the only person who’s never had avocado toast. Must. Expand. My. Horizons. 🙂
You aren’t the only one! I don’t like avocado fixed any way…lol
Well, we’re a pair aren’t we? I’ve only had avocado as guacamole and I could take or leave that and would rather have salsa with chips instead.
Hahaha I eat Chi Chi’s salsa with scoops just about every other day! We buy huge jars of the salsa at Sam’s Club.
Salsa is good for you – I cannot have the chips in the house as I will eat them up – I gave up salty snacks when I gave up sweets, but went back to eating them as I missed them and nothing satisfies like a crunchy chip. I can’t have Pepperidge Farm Goldfish in the house as I will eat them.
Look at that gorgeous slice!!! my fingers are itching to grab it!
Aw thank you Deeksha! It was definitely worth grabbing…lol
😋😋
I looove blueberries! I mean, who doesn’t!?! The cinnamon sugar idea is great!
Looks very yummy 😋🙌🏾🙌🏾
Thank you Chela!
Thanks!
This looks gorgeous 😋😋
Thank you so much and have a fantastic day!
This looks absolutely yum definitely gotta try this !!
Thank you it is well worth trying. I love this one so much!
That looks good.
Thank you so much!
Blueberry bushes in your garden?! How cool to grow one of the most expensive fruits in one’s garden! Happy for ya, Diane!
Thanks I have had them for years. The reason they are so expensive it the time it takes to pick them…lol
I always wondered about the pickin’ part. I think even tea leaves are kinda picked individually too, instead of by branch. I have only wild berries, which are a bit too sour for even juicing.
This looks amazingly delicious.
It was so delicious and moist. I grow my own blueberries so I can make this anytime. Give it a try. ❤Thanks so much Chrissy!
