Simple Foolproof & Delicious Gravy
Do you buy canned gravy? When you make your own gravy is it always lumpy and tastes bad? For years I bought canned gravy because I had tried everything and my gravy would never turn out good….until I made it this way!

It is a simple recipe so those afraid of gravy should just take a deep breath and see how easy it is! A simple little insurance my mom taught me is to use Wondra flour. It is precooked and never lumps! If all else fails, a strainer has saved more than one lumpy sauce.

Hahaha oh yes before I made gravy this way I used a strainer every time. I have never had to this way. I think the secret is that you add the flour to room temperature broth, not hot.

Do you ever make sausage gravy to put over biscuits Diane?

No Linda I have never made sausage gravy. It’s funny because I love gravy and sausage but I never cared for Bob Evans sausage gravy so I never has it again. Do you make it?

No, I don’t make it Diane, my mother did though and hot biscuits with it – one of my favorite meals. I think I’ve only been to Bob Evans one time and had their catfish. There is a little diner in Flat Rock, Michigan that only serves breakfast and pie. They open really early and close around 1:00 p.m. They are a house converted to a restaurant and don’t seat many people but their specialty are their farmer’s breakfasts and they serve sausage gravy and biscuits with every breakfast … it is one of those places that you have to wear elastic waistband to go there. There is a canned sausage gravy at my grocery store but I’ve never tried it.
