Blueberry or Blackberry Cobbler
Those of you that follow me may remember that I grow my own blueberries. This year was absolutely amazing with the amount of blueberries that I picked! My freezer has many gallon bags filled with blueberries so I figured it was time to use some up. This recipe is a simple one to make with a whole lot of flavor. You can exchange the blueberries with blackberries or even huckleberries if you would like. We have many mulberry trees growing wild on our property. I may have to try them with this recipe next year.
The recipe book I found this recipe in is called Grandma’s Recipes – Recipes From The 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s, however, they called this recipe Blueberry pudding. I have no idea why they called it Pudding because it is exactly like a cobbler, so I did rename it.
Ingredients
In a medium bowl cream the butter
and the 1/2 cup of sugar.
Add the egg.
Stir well with a large spoon.
Add the flour, baking powder,
salt, milk and vanilla.
Stir well with a spoon.
Spray a 2 quart covered
baking dish with cooking oil.
Place the blueberries into the baking dish.
Pour 1/3 cup of sugar evenly over the top.
Place spoonfuls of the batter
on top of the blueberries.
Carefully spread the batter on
top covering the blueberries.
Put on the lid.
Bake in a preheated 350 degree
oven for approximately 70 minutes
or until the top is a light golden brown.
Serve warm or cold.

YUM!!! I love them both.
Me too but my blueberries are free so you know what I use…lol
Have you tried making a blueberry vinegar. It’s really good. It would be delicious over pork or chicken.
I don’t think I’ve ever met a pie that I didn’t like…
Hahaha I know what you mean!
I am not a fan of making pies because I mess them all up! You make this look so simple. I will have to try this one. 🙂
Michelle no dough to make, so simple! Enjoy!

Tempting 😋
This looks delicious. My husband would love you, he has always been a blueberry lover, since he was the age of two. You grow your own, bet you have a really nice garden. Thanks for the recipe. Think I might have my son try this one, surprise his dad with some yummy treats.
This recipe looks amazing. Thanks for sharing. What are some other of your favorite dessert recipes?
I love a good cobbler with ice cream 🙂
The word “pudding” probably was a British term. Their puddings are called custards. I love how I always have all those ingredients in my kitchen. Looks yummy.
I so love cobbler! Delicious and easy!
That looks super tasty and irresistible
Yes! A dollop of whip cream or some vanilla ice cream on the warm cobbler and I am set!!!!
Yum <3
looks amazing!
Looks like my kind of dessert. I love those recipe books from our parents, or grand parents days. They have simple, basic, and real ingredients. Today’s recipes often list ingredients that aren’t normal cupboard staples, or already prepared supermarket things.
Oh I love this! Will try soon <3
Loving all you do
That looks delicious and blueberries are good for you – have a second helping!
